A short post tonight guys because I’ve had a long week and I’m ready to go get in bed with my book and relax. I’m hoping this weekend there will just be a lot of lounging around with books. Doesn’t that sound like a good plan?
Here are a few links to check out:
- The Slaves of Golconda are choosing the next read. Danielle has come up with some great choices so join us. I’ve not been the best of slaves this year as I’ve struggled with most of the books we’ve read but I still hope to turn things around. And, I’ll say it again, every year one of Slaves choices always ends up on my favorite reads of the year. We really do read some great stuff.
- Want some free eBooks? I don’t have an eReader so I can’t say how good this place is but it’s free stuff so check out ManyBooks.
- Indulge in some gorgeous artwork over at The Beauty of Paper. I especially love the Typography one.
- Don’t know what to read? VenusZine has the Ultimate Summer Reading Guide, Part I and II. The top 10 authors, classics, you name it.
Hope you’ll enjoy those links and have a fabulous weekend!

Lounging around and reading sounds like a good plan to me. I’m hoping to have some of that myself this weekend.
It sounds like a great plan. I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend!
Thanks for those links!
Hope you have a great weekend ahead, Iliana!
ManyBooks is awesome. It is my favorite place to get free books for my Kindle. Have a great weekend lounging and reading!
I am taking my lounging day today. No gym. Lounge clothes. Books. Light cleaning.
The only thing I really have to do is enter grades for the summer session I finished teaching yesterday. I love a lazy day.
Kathleen – Hope you get to do a lot of that this weekend too!
Nymeth – Thank you. I hope yours is fun and relaxing as well!
Melody – Enjoy the links. Have fun with your family and how did it go with the school?
stefanie – Oh good to hear. One of these days I will get an eReader and then I’ll go crazy there 🙂
jenn – lazy days are great! I really want to relax this weekend so hopefully I won’t get caught up in running errands. Besides, it’s too hot to do anything right?
It looks like it will be a rainy weekend, so I will stay home and read about Franklin, a British Artic explorer from the mid 1800s. He never went back home :{
Hope some of the rain heads your way.
lounging around with books on the weekend sounds fantastic 🙂 enjoy!
Thanks for the link, The Beauty of Paper is amazing.
Thanks for the links! Have a nice quiet weekend full of reading and relaxation.
Hi – I’ve been looking for a free e book site, thanks. This good too because you can choose your format. I’ve just downloaded a challenge – a novel in french!
Woohoo! Thanks for the ebook link. Will definitely check that out. I hope you have a relaxing weekend!
I hope you were able to lounge around and read just as you planned, Iliana. I am hoping to do a bit of that tomorrow, if all works out. Thank you for the links!
I’ve not done well with the Slaves books this year either. I think the Sarton book will be a fairly easy read, however, and hopefully there will be plenty there to discuss as well! Hope you had a great weekend.
Isabel – How was your book? Did it help to “cool” you off? We didn’t get any rain. Just heat, heat, heat! Grr….
bookworm – Isn’t that wonderful? I wish I could create some of those beautiful things!
jenclair – It wasn’t as relaxing as I hoped but I did indulge in a nap today and that was nice!
Tamara – Yay, I’m glad you were able to use it!
Andi – Hope you find some good ebooks there Andi. I wish I had an eReader!
Literary Feline – I hope you were able to enjoy a relaxing weekend. I got to see one of my friends today so that was really nice. Just wish I had another day off tomorrow 🙂
Danielle – I know, what is going on right? I’m excited about the Sarton book and hope it’ll be a winner. I’ve only read one of her books but found it really wonderful and inspiring so I have high hopes for this one! Hey, hope you are feeling better too!
I’m hoping I can get the SofG book in this time. I’ve been a terrible readalong person this year. It looks so good – backbiting and scandal in the staff room. Hope you manage it too.
