Hello everyone – I hope you are all doing well! I’m here surviving a lot of work and hot, hot days. I read today that we broke a record by hitting 105+ degrees for 11 consecutive days. Yuck.
Needless to say, all I’ve got is a short post but thought I’d share some fun bookish/paper art related items. If you have a chance take a look through some of these and let me know what you think.
Do you love portrait art? How about some portraits of famous people made out of book spines? Hm, I do have a lot of books on my shelves. Could I do this too? Ha.
Here’s another artist making sculptures out of abandoned books. The detail is amazing. I know a lot of bookworms may not like the idea of tearing apart a book but I like this as it definitely gives books new life.
Do you know how to act around books? In case you need some tips, check out what The New York Public Library has to say.
I love vintage photographs and scrapbooks. Finding a vintage scrapbook – the best! This scrapbook from a German solider in WWII is really neat.
Who doesn’t love a good used book? Well, A Good Used Book offers a wonderful curated selection of gently used books you can buy online. I especially love some of the older editions.
Finally if you are doing some traveling this year and need a guide to libraries, check out Library Planet! I want to visit them all!
Have a wonderful weekend and stay cool friends!
Thanks for the links! Stay cool over there. It’s been very humid and rainy here.
I hate all these hot temps! I hope cooler weather is coming soon.
