Happy National Library week everyone! I may have stacks and stacks of unread books but going to the library is still a thrill. And, this weekend not only did I use my card but my husband checked out some books and my mom got some videos so the whole family celebrated.
You want to hear about the books right? Here’s what I checked out:
- Pretty Monsters by Kelly Link
- Flying Too High by Kerry Greenwood
- Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby
- Judgment of the Grave by Sarah Stewart Taylor
- Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
- Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
- River of Darkness by Rennie Airth
Some mysteries, short stories, YA, and fiction. A good mix I think. So how about you, are you going to the library this week?

I just loved Catching Fired. I want to read the Nick Hornby one too. I am going to wish you a very quiet happy Library week, as I have just noticed I haven’t renewed my books and now owe a very large fine. Eeekk!
I am a big fan of the library – probably stop there at least once a week. Lately I have checking out a lot of kids books to preview so I can make good recommendations to parents.
I think I’ll visit a library every single work day this week. Of course it is easy since I work in a library 😉
Hooray for libraries! I usually hit three/week…public, church and the one where I work. 🙂
Ooh ooh! Really interested to read what you think of Kelly Link’s book. I’ve heard such good things about her.
Happy Library Week!
vivienne – I loved Hunger Games and am anxious to start Catching Fire. I almost started it late last night but then I thought I probably should get some sleep 🙂
Juliann – I used to visit the library a lot more than I do now but that’s because the branch closest to me is a bit small but now I’ve been requesting books from other branches a lot so it makes it fun to go in and pick up lots of holds 🙂
Stefanie – Haha… You lucky girl 🙂
Tiffany – You too! 🙂
andi – I tried one of her books once and thought it was so out there but that’s before I was giving this genre a chance. I really hope I enjoy this one. It looks good!
Care – You too! Hope you check out lots of good books.
I still haven’t read Catching Fire either. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. And glad you did a shout out for National Library Week, I did the same today. I love the library!!
Oooh, the new Nick Hornby! I’ve been dying to get my hands on that. Also, hard to go wrong with Kelly Link.
I can’t go to the library right now because I have a 5 months old baby and I’m pretty busy. But usually I love to go:) Happy reading!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Juliet, Naked. And you have reminded me that I still need to read Catching Fire–but when?! *looks over at large stack of books waiting to be read in despair*
I have no books checked out; hurricane season is coming soon and I don’t want to leave any books behind and then be responsible for the fines.
I like Hornsby. I’ll keep an eye out for the Juliet review.
Kathleen – Isn’t the library great? I am thinking of visiting our downtown branch as that’s the big one. I want to see what they have on their new books shelf!
Nymeth – I haven’t read a Hornby book in a while and he’s always so good. I hope this will be a fun one.
Andreea – You’ve got a good excuse! But just wait until he gets older and then you can take him to storytime – how fun will that be 🙂
Priscilla – Can totally relate to the bookish despair. My piles are overwhelming which usually result in me having to return half of my books unread but I try!
Isabel – When does hurricane season start? Is it really that soon? Bleh.
