Ok, it looks like my library ban is really gone for good because I keep checking out books. I mentioned in my last post on library books that as soon as I got home I had a notice that some other holds had come in but I was a bit bad and waited several days to go pick them up to give me a bit more time.
So anyway, what did I get?
I’ve read so many wonderful reviews recently of The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger (Vasilly’s, Kailana’s reviews come to mind first) that I had to get it. I think this is one I’d like to actually own though because just a quick glance through it and I can already tell it’s one of those you could easily go back to time and again.
I also checked out The Ice Princess by Camilla LΓΒ€ckberg. A Swedish mystery which has garnered all sorts of praise. I love my Scandinavian crime thrillers so I’m looking forward to this one.
I finally got my hands on Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I know the reviews on this third installment of the Hunger Games series have been a bit mixed but I still want to know what happens in the end.
Moving on, what’s happening with you this weekend? Any big plans? I am hoping to do a bit of bookbinding, dining with friends and reading of course. Last but not least of course is catching up on my blog reading. I do so well at the beginning of the week but by the end of the week I always seem to be behind. Anyway, have a super weekend!
I know, the temptation of getting or borrowing books is always there isn’t it? lol.
Happy reading, and hope you have a wonderful weekend, Iliana! π
I hope you like Mockingjay! I’m one of the few people who really enjoyed it, but then again, I’m also one of the few people who didn’t really like Catching Fire…
That is some great library loot you got! I’m hosting a baby shower for my sister this weekend, but, of course, I will find time to read. Have a great weekend!
I really liked Mockingjay, hope you will too π The ice princess though, I am not too crazy about…
I can’t seem to avoid the library either:) Ice Princess sounds like a good one. enjoy them all.
I liked the Ice Princess. Murder must be rare since everyone in the town got in such a tizzy. The main character is really down to earth. But the underlying cause of the murder shocked me.
Mockingjay. I got an audio version of it from the library, but I couldn’t hear it! It works only with Windows; I have a Mac. grr. Will have to wait for print version at the library.
At least library books don’t cost anything so if you don’t manage to read them all it’s ok. It’s a school work sort of weekend for me. Your plans sound lovely. Enjoy!
Happy reading π I want to read the Hunger Games series eventually. Enjoy your weekend.
It’s usually on the weekends I catch up on my blog reading! π There is just never enough time for everything! I have the Lackberg on my pile as well and am looking forward to it. Enjoy your weekend.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that has gone to the library only to come home and find that I have holds in. I’ve got to go to the library tomorrow to pick up Cherie Priest’s newest book. The Lackberg book sounds really interesting and is on my TBR list already. Hope you enjoy all of these!
The library is the place to be for me right now as money is a bit tight. Anyway I am listening right now to “The Gargoyle”. It is very well read and It makes driving much more pleasant, even though the context is quite gruesome and disturbing. I am also busy finding space for my book on shelves around the house. I am putting poetry together, short stories and to be read fiction in the same small bookcase in the living room close access. My studio is also taking shape. Yey! Have a great weekend Iliana!
I’m staying far away from my library!! I have far too many stacks of ARCs (some as old as 2000!) that I hope to read this year. And, of course, there are all my TBR shelves that are full of purchased books that I want to concentrate on, as well. NO LIBRARY BOOKS! π
I’m working on a couple of reviews in between laundry and dinner prep (Paella for a dinner party!). I caught up on some blog-hopping while walking on the treadmill, so my weekend is feeling pretty productive. Maybe I’ll actually curl up with a book tomorrow. Could happen. π
It’s hard to resist so much temptation, isn’t t? I can’t blame you.
It’s been a relatively quiet weekend for me. Hubby and I got some more packing done–and lots of sorting. Great fun. I’m not sure what’s in store for today. Maybe take the stroller and car seat out of the box and put that together.
Hi Everyone – Sorry I didn’t respond to comments individually but I was out and about a lot this weekend. I hope you all had a great one! We had gorgeous weather and took advantage to go out and about. Hope you guys have a wonderful week ahead! Hugs.
The Night Bookmobile is one that I keep seeing as well–some really great reviews and others that are little more tepid (which actually has more even more curious). Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I have a bit of a library ban going right now myself since I racked up some fines from my last trip there! Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Personally I thought Mockingjay was pretty darn good and I hope you enjoy it too!!
