I stopped at the library earlier this week because I had put several books on hold and luckily they all came in at once. So here’s what I got:
Dark Echoes of the Past by Ramon Diaz Eterovic. Award-winning novel featuring Private Investigator Heredia. This is by the Chilean author and first time translated into English. I’m excited about this one.
The Awkward Squad by Sophie Henaff. This is my September book for my mystery book group. I just started it last night and so a bit too soon to tell but I’ll keep you posted.
The American Agent by Jacqueline Winspear. I don’t know how it’s possible but I forgot that a new Maisie Dobbs book was released earlier this year. Frankly this is the one I wanted to start first but that’s ok. I will get to it.
The Tijuana Book of the Dead by Luis Alberto Urrea. I’ve enjoyed one of his books before but I didn’t realize he also wrote a poetry collection. Can’t wait to read this.
Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation. Last week I bought The Diary of Anne Frank and then I realized there was a graphic novel too. I just had to get this to see the illustrations.
Have you checked out any books recently? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I planning to catch up on some reading and I have a date with some bookbinding projects!
Have fun reading and that you’ve a great weekend ahead!
I’ll be interested in hearing what your group thinks of The Awkward Squad. Think I’ve only read a couple of reviews, but I also think they were positive.
I’m eager to hear what you think of this selection! I’m behind on the Maisie Dobbs series, but they all sound interesting. 🙂
Dark Echoes of the Past sounds really good. I hadn’t known Luis Alberto Urrea wrotie poetry. I will have to look for it. I hope you enjoy all of these!
Enjoy your books, they all look good especially The Tijuana Book of the Dead and the Anne Frank graphic novel. I haven’t been to the library in too long , I need to get back.
Melody – I want to start all of these but I need to focus on finishing at least one before I add another to my pile.
Kay – So far I’m really enjoying it. At first I thought it was a bit odd but now I love it. Not sure what my group will think of this one.
Jen Mullen – I love the Maisie Dobbs series and have no idea how I missed this one. I want to start it now but want to make sure I finish my book for book group first.
Literary Feline – I didn’t know that Urrea wrote poetry either. Really excited about happening upon this book!
Bookworm – It had been a while since I’d been to the library as well and of course it’s like as soon as I go back I load up. Trying not to go overboard!
