I hope you all had a great weekend. For me it was a weekend of catching up on household chores, going out to dinner with a friend and resting. I still am not finished with my book for my book group night on Tuesday but hopefully I’ll finish it by then.
In the meantime I do have a little stack of library books I wanted to share with you. I checked out the following:
Nan-Core by Mahokaru Numata. This is a suspense story about a young man trying to uncover who his parents really were. I think this would be a great book to read for the Japanese Literature reading challenge.
Come Hell or Highball by Maia Chance. A stylish Prohibition-era caper. This is the first in Lola Woodby series.
In the Language of Miracles by Rajia Hassib. A debut novel about an Egyptian American family and the wrenching tragedy that tears their lives apart.
Heathentown by Corinna Sara Bechko. I can’t remember where I first read about this graphic novel but it looks scary.
Let me know if you’ve read any of these books and which one you recommend.
Sorry if I’ve been a bit missing in action from blogland but I’ve just been a bit busy at work and with family stuff. Frankly, I can’t wait until the week off I have coming up during the holidays to relax and recharge.
I am looking forward to my Christmas vacation also. It should be quiet.
It sounds like you had a nice weekend, Iliana, even playing catch up. Mine was good. Mouse had her last Tumble and Dance class and then we attended the Winter Festival. Mouse and her dad got to go sledding down a big hill of snow that had been brought in (I was too chicken). She had a blast. My husband won’t admit it, but I think he did too. 🙂
Your library books all sound good. I haven’t read any of them. Nan-Core particularly interests me.
Household chores are never ending, even if one is a full-time housewife, lol. I hope you enjoy those books, Iliana. 🙂
I came across In the Language of Miracles somewhere recently but I can’t remember where. That one I would like to check out. Your other books also look great. Hope you have a great week and a Merry Christmas!
