As it’s Thanksgiving the public library is going to be closed for two days, so what do I do today? Well, make a run to the library to stock up on books of course. I have plenty of reading material but I don’t need to explain book madness right?
Here’s what I got:
- The Dragon Man by Garry Disher. This is a police procedural set in Australia. I do love crime/mysteries set outside of the U.S.
- Forests of the Night by David Stuart Davies. Another mystery, this one is a whodunit set in WWII England.
- The Museum of Dr. Moses by Joyce Carole Oates. Short stories of mystery and suspense. I haven’t read any Oates in a long time.
Hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a great one. I plan to read a lot and maybe dash out for some coffee. No big to-do at Casa Bookgirl but that’s kind of nice too you know.

It would never do to be caught short! What madness? Better safe than sorry and all that. Have a great day!
Your Thanksgiving day sounds like me dream!!!! I would love to just read all day!!! I am currently reading a totally engrossing and totally entertaining book…The Abstinence Teacher by Tom Perrotta!! Hilarious and interesting…..I also just got the new Oprah book club book by Ken Follett, but I can’t remember the title right now. Wonder if you have read it….
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving..I am thankful for your blog and the crazy addicted book gal that you are! Me too!!!
p.s. My Mother in law always asks for a Christmas list from us. I am asking for the new memoir by Steve Martin and the new book from Ha Jin! Wahoo, hope I get them!
Binge reading for me this weekend, and packing.
As for the feast tonight, I’m responsible for just making cranberry sauce from scratch! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving Day to you. 🙂
jenclair – That’s what I say 🙂 Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving!
Laura – Aw, you are too sweet. Thank goodness for all of us bookworms right? You know, I’ve never read any Tom Perrotta. I’ll have to add him to my TBR list. I did hear about Oprah’s pick. It was Pillars of the Earth right? Great book. I read that long ago though. Heh, before Oprah 🙂
Matt – Binge reading is awesome! We are so bad we won’t do anything for Thanksgiving. Oh well maybe next year. Hope your feast tonight is wonderful!
I plan to curl up with a book shortly. Your Thanksgiving plans today sound heavenly. 🙂 I hope you had a nice day, Iliana.
Hope you had a great day! A day spent reading sounds quite wonderful.
Literary Feline – Ooh what book did you curl up with? I actually didn’t do as much reading as I planned. Got busy crafting 🙂
Tanabata – It was a nice day and tomorrow I’m hoping for more of the same!
Had a sumptious Thanksgiving meal, in addition to the traditional turkey, baked ham and stuffing, we’ve had an Asian twist of BBQ beef and grilled fish! 🙂
Caught up with so many pre-trip errands and people at the coffee joint all want to talk to me before I go, so I haven’t read much! I’ll hope for tomorrow!
Matt – Oh your Thanksgiving sounds yummy! We had fish too. My mom doesn’t eat meat and neither does my hubby. I bet you are counting down the hours before your trip aren’t you? Hope you get a lot of reading done on Sunday!
