I wanted to post a review, but then I just wasn’t in the mood to write one. I could tell you about my current reads but not much has changed since the last few times I’ve talked about them.
I didn’t really know what to talk about today. The weather? It’s still hot here in Texas. The weekend? Well no major plans except for lots of errands to run. This week has been a bit crazy at work so I’m just not very inspired.
So what to write about? Well, let me go to my bookshelves and something should spark an interest. And, for some reason I thought why not a glance through my book Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. It never fails to make me smile.
And, from the first page I ran across this “invitation” and I just thought what a perfect invitation this is for all book lovers.
If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer…
If you’re a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!
I hope you find lots of inviting stories this weekend. I know the pages of my books are calling me. Happy weekend everyone!
What a perfect Friday post! I love Silverstein, he is magical.
I love Silverstein and have a few of his books on my shelf. He never fails to make me smile. Have a great weekend!
Love Shel Silverstein! Happy Friday!
Nice post Iliana. I know what you mean, I wanted to post something today as well, but was at a loss for what. I like that poem!
Hi Iliana! It’s been a long while since I’ve commented on your blog. Haven’t checked out those posts I’ve subscribed though, and boo on Google Reader. Sigh.
I like that poem too! Hope you’ve a great week! 🙂
Did you have a good weekend after all? Mine was filled with re-reading Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake, and quiet family time on the porch. Summer is not my favourite season generally, but this one has been rather nice and bookish, too. Hope you’re having a good week, with poems to assist as required!
