I went to my Murder on Mondays Mystery book group tonight for the discussion of Agatha Christie’s books, The Body in the Library and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. After our discussion we were supposed to have a trivia contest for a chance to win eight Agatha Christie books from this collection. Aren’t they nice? I think those would look good in the Bookgirl library. Hee.
I was dreading the contest actually as I hadn’t really read anything about Agatha Christie and most of the members weren’t too keen on the trivia idea either so our book group leader took pity on us and decided to just have a drawing instead and guess what? I won, Evil Under the Sun, a Hercule Poirot mystery. Yay me!
We also chose the books for the next two months and I’m so happy that we chose books I’ve already read and that I liked a lot. In July we’ll discuss Stil Life by Louise Penny and in August we’ll discuss Jar City by Arnaldur Indridason.
Of course I couldn’t leave with a little something else for me and I got the latest issue of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. I really enjoyed the last issue I bought. So a very fun evening indeed.
If anyone deserves to win, it’s you!
Congrats!
What Luck! Now, by winning books, you will experience the true meaning of Happy Reading! 😀
Congratulations! I love winning books.
It was good to see you girl. It was a good group discussion. I was very impressed with the quality of the books that were given away. A fun evening indeed.
Woo-Hoo! It is always fun to win! And, to win a book is the best.
WAY-TO-GO! That was a fun night and sounds like you have another book to add the your TBR pile!
I remember Evil Under the Sun, it’s a good one! Hope you’ll enjoy it!
Woo! It’s always nice to win a book 🙂
What great luck! I’m a huge Agatha Christie fan, those book covers are great!
It’s always nice when a book group picks something you’ve read and you feel like you have the month off! Congrats on winning!
AWESOME!! Agatha Christie books are the best!! I love the new editions!
Thanks everyone! And, so glad to hear some good words about Evil Under the Sun. I get the feeling I won’t be disappointed. I still can’t believe I’ve only read a few Agatha books but hey that means there are a lot of books yet to be discovered 🙂
Good for you!
I just started my myster-a-thon. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I enjoyed Still Life, although Penny’s latest was almost unreadable for me! So slow!
Hope you enjoy it though!
Matt – Good luck with the myster-a-thon (I like that!)
Kate – Oh no… Darn. I have a hold on it at the library when it comes through so I’ll let you know what I think.
Congratulations! What a nice looking book to win.
