Do you guys have big weekend plans? It’s supposed to be a rainy weekend so should be perfect for reading and relaxing. One thing I do want to do is head over to the library pick up a hold and do a bit of browsing. It’s been months since I’ve visited the library, mainly because I’ve been on a “read from my shelves†mission. This visit is also partly homework because at this month’s mystery book group meeting we are selecting new books and I want to have some to nominate.
So far I’ve come up with these book titles:
- Interred with their Bones by Jennifer Lee Carrell
- The Poison Tree by Erin Kelly
- The Girl Next Door by Brad Parks
- The Other Woman by Hank Phillippi Ryan
Have you read any of these and can recommend them? Think they’d be good for a discussion? In case you are wondering, no I usually don’t nominate books I’ve read because of course I want to read some new books/authors. Ha.
Hope you all you have a wonderful weekend and I’ll let you know how my library trip goes.
I’ve not read any of them! I am all about reading from my shelves. I have way too many books, and I know I’ve got some really good ones right under my nose.
Oh and to answer your question about whether I’ve read The Discovery of Witches, yes I did listen to it! I enjoyed it more than I expected to, despite the woman being all “save me, save me”. If I get an audio that is part 2 of a series, I won’t touch it with a ten foot pole unless I’ve read the predecessors!
I’ve read the first and didn’t love it. I have read Erin Kelly’s newest (not The Poison Tree) and really enjoyed her writing. I’ve heard good things about The Poison Tree. The last two I have no info for you. 🙂
Sandy – Thanks for letting me know about the Harkness book. I am such a stickler about reading a series in order!
jenn – Thank you for the info! I think I may recommend the Erin Kelly book which is the one I’ve heard most about. Still haven’t gotten around to researching the others but I still have a bit more time 🙂
