Holiday Reads

If you are in the mood for some festive fiction, well you can find a lot of new books out this season. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers I have several holiday-themed ARCs to enjoy.

The Christmas Orphans Club by Becca Freeman. A riotous holiday rom-com about four friends in NYC who hold onto their unconventional Christmas tradition even when their paths diverge—but the changes they fear might be exactly what they need…

The Book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan. With its historic charm and picture-perfect library, the Maple Sugar Inn is considered the winter destination. In the span of a week over the most enchanting time of the year four women come together to improve each other’s lives and perhaps start of a whole new chapter.

A Winter in New York by Josie Silver. A young chef stumbles on a secret family recipe that might lead her to the love—and life—she’s been looking for. I’ve read another book by this author and it was delightful so I’m excited about this one.

Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan. Christmas comes early to McCredie’s little Old Town bookshop in Edinburgh. It’s summer, but an American production company has decided that McCredie’s is the perfect location to film a very cheesy Christmas movie and soon Carmen Hogan, the bookshop’s manager, finds herself looking forward to the holidays and the possibilities.

One Christmas Morning by Rachel Greenlaw. Eva has spent the past three years burying herself in her work, trying to forget the heartbreaking events of a previous Christmas. This year, the last thing she wants is to attend her friend’s weekend-long Christmas party. But when Eva wakes on Christmas morning, she finds herself living not her own life, but that of her hardworking assistant and the next few days she is living the life of different people and in doing so learns new lessons.

The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett. A holiday caper about the hilarious Fairway Players theater group as they put on a Christmas play—and solve a murder that threatens their production.

Any of these books, a cozy blanket and a cup of hot chocolate and I think I’m set for the holiday! Do you like to read holiday books?
