September was a very good reading month but I’ve got vacation to thank for that. I read eight books and have four others in progress but now that I’m back to work and the daily routine my reading has considerably slowed down. I have great hopes of finishing the R.I.P. Challenge and getting through other books but realistically I just don’t know if that will happen.
I read every day but the time I have devoted to reading is not much. I feel like there is so much competing for my attention (I’m sure you all feel that way too). I’ve looked back at all the books I’ve read this year and if my reading continues like this for the rest of the year then it might be a year with the least amount of books read.
Yikes. I know, it’s not about the number of books but I can’t help but think that the book stacks are growing taller and my TBR list is out of control.
So instead of just writing on and on about how I haven’t been reading much, how about if I get back to my books in progress! I’ll tell you more about those soon as I’ve got some good ones on the nightstand.
I’m waiting for it to FEEL like October. You probably have the same issues I do, where “cool” weather might show itself in November if we are lucky. Since I decided to take a blogging break after October this year, definitely the pressure to read fast and review fast is gone, but I don’t think the piles will ever stop growing!
Too bad you can’t have a vacation every month. Think of all the reading you’d get to do!
Sandy – I’m with you! The mornings here have actually been a bit cooler but it’s still in the 90s by the afternoon. It’s all supposed to change this weekend. I totally understand the need for a blogging break. I hope you’ll enjoy yours and I bet you get to read more books with all that extra time 😉
Stefanie – I know right? Maybe I should lobby for that at work as I am HR! haha…
I think fall is finally settling in here–or at least it is until tomorrow when it is in the 90’s again. I put up a few fall decorations in hopes that would help spur the season on, but it hasn’t helped much. 🙂
I feel like I haven’t spent enough time reading this year either. Too many other distractions among other things.
Here’s to a great October full of great books and lots of reading!
