Sometimes when I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed it’s nice to make a list of the little things & big things that are bringing me joy. So here are some of my favorite things:
The sign in the picture is from our trip to Utrecht this summer. Evening time is reading time. That it is for me.
Flow Mindfulness journal. I went back and forth on getting this but in the end I know it’s one of those things I will really enjoy.
New coffee flavor. I love flavored coffee although I don’t get sucked into holiday flavors too much but I recently discovered this one and it’s yummy. I may have to stock up.
Oatmeal breakfasts. I’ve been trying several overnight oats recipes and so far my favorite has been the banana chocolate chip. You feel like you are having dessert for breakfast.
Atlases. One of my friends sent me a set of five old atlases that her library was getting rid of. Their trash is going to be my crafty treasure!
Book Festival. Finally, it’s time for the Texas Book Festival. I’ve got my schedule ready and will report back on who I saw and what I bought.
Our anniversary. My husband and I are celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary tomorrow. Yay!
Would love to hear what’s bringing you joy lately. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I am looking forward to a new restaurant for our anniversary dinner and fun at the book festival.
Love the sign! Lucky you to be gifted with the old atlases–can’t wait to see what you do with your crafty stash. Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary!
I love overnight oats, have them every Saturday morning before my bike ride for the day. We don’t use yogurt and sub hemp seeds for chia. Do peanut butter and dried dates and walnuts , a few chocolate chips and fresh banana on top. Filling, nutritious and tasty! Chia pudding also makes me happy. And it is finally getting cold enough some evenings that I can indulge in hot chocolate. Also, my silly chickens helping me in the garden make me silly happy.
Have fun with the atlases and at the book festival!
Congratulations on the anniversary! This is a great list of happy things! I love oatmeal but I am not adventurous enough with it. I think I’ll change that this week and try a different oatmeal everyday! Thanks for the idea. 🙂 And love that sign! Very true for sure.
Hope you had a wonderful anniversary and did, or will this weekend, celebrate in some special way. Fifteen years is very impressive! Like you, I love making happy lists like the one you have here. May have to keep this idea in mind for an upcoming blog post–some days you just need a good list!
Happy Anniversary! What a nice list of happy things 😉 I like that sign too.
Love that sign!! I have an entire Dropbox folder of signs I saw in Germany. 🙂
Happy Anniversary! We just celebrated our 28th yesterday. Here’s to many more wonderful years to you and your hubby!
Jenclair – Isn’t it cool? I don’t know what I’ll make with the atlases either!
Stefanie – I have not tried hemp seeds. I will have to look into those. I find that the oats really help me from snacking throughout the morning. Oh and hot chocolate is so yummy.
Athira – I do love oatmeal but had never tried overnight oats and I think I’m hooked. I really am enjoying them so hope you get to try some too!
Danielle – Thank you we did! I do enjoy making happy lists. Especially when I feel like I have a lot of stress from taking care of an aging parent, work, etc. then happy lists are a great way to remind you of the good stuff.
Bookworm – Isn’t the sign cute? I wish I had that in my library 🙂
Les in Ne – Happy Anniversary to you guys too! That’s wonderful. Oh you need to post more signs from your travels through Germany. I would love to see more!
