Greetings from Germany

Hello Blog Friends! I’ve been enjoying some very relaxing days in Germany. The weather is definitely cooler than in Texas so for the most part I’ve been settling on the couch, with a blanket, a book and lots of chocolate. Oh my goodness, I have eaten so much chocolate.

I’ve finished four books: Aftermath by Peter Robinson, Singing Bird by Roisin McAuley, Killing Me Softly by Nicci French and A Suitable Vengeance by Elizabeth George. Now, I’ve just gotten into Summer by Edith Wharton. I have no excuses for not writing up reviews other than I’m just too relaxed and enjoying being a bit lazy. So don’t know if I’ll get around to telling you more about the books but I can say that my favorties have been the Robinson and George books.

What else have I been up to? We went to the movies yesterday and saw Toy Story 3. Very cute and luckily I could follow along even though my German needs a lot of help. We visited a couple of bookstores and believe it or not I haven’t bought anything – yet. We are going to Hannover in a few days and there are two bookstores I really like there so I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist temptation.

Actually, I meant to mention that when we were in New York we had a grand time walking around with Christine and her husband. And, bad influence that she is, she took us to the Strand. My bags were pretty full with my books already but I managed to buy one book to squeeze in, Rule Britannia by Daphne du Maurier. How could I leave that behind right?

Anyway, it’s drizzling now, not too cold though, but perfect weather to settle down with my book. I don’t have a coffee maker here so that’s a bummer as I could use a cup but I do have some cake waiting for me. Of course I went to the bakery today. I hope you are all doing great and reading lots of good stuff.

Oh here’s a pic of my typical breakfast. Fresh Brรƒยถtchen with honey this time. Tomorrow maybe with Nutella or jam.
