J.Danger, over at This Dangerous Life tagged me for a meme.
Here are the rules:
I am going to list three categories of books. Three “must reads”, three “keep your eyes on these”, and three “look for these soon”. Sticking with the three theme, I will tag three bloggers when I am finished. They should put these same lists on their blog, but subtract one book from each category and add one of their own. It should be fun to see how the lists change as they go
The books with Stars are my additions-
3 Must Read Books–
1. Resistance by Alice Humbert
2. The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
3. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson**
3 Keep Your Eyes on These–
1. The Guersney Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shffer
2. The Likeness by Tana French
3. Brief Gaudy Hour by Margaret Campbell Barnes**
3 Look For These Soon-
1. When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson
2. Home by Marilynne Robinson
3. Ballistics by Billy Collins ** (Comes out Sept. 9!)
3 Tags to keep this meme going –
1. Matt from A Guy’s Moleskine Notebook
2. Lisa from Booknotes by Lisa
3. Joanna from Lost in a Good Story
Anyone else want to play? I’m off to add lots of new titles to my wish list.
Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day is on my list as well. I’ve got the book–the new edition with illustrations. I saw the movie when I was in Hong Kong. Sooooo funny….Every Woman Will Have Her Day!
The Guersney Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is on my watch-list but I am not sure if I’ll buy the book. Most book bloggers are raving about it but I spotted a negative review today. I’m still curious about it.
I tackle the meme right away and schedule the post for Tuesday. 🙂
That’s a fun meme!
I’m glad The Likeness was mentioned because I’m really enjoying it. 🙂
It’s fun to see how the list of books on this meme has changed!
Ditto Matt’s remarks on the Guersney. Borrow it from the library
What an interesting list. I will have to check out these books. The Adoration of Jenna Fox is one of my must read books.
It’s been interesting to see this meme as it makes its way round the blog world! I’m intrigued by the title–The Brief Gaudy Hour–I need to check that one out!
Matt – The movie was so cute wasn’t it? I think I need to add it to my DVD collection. I hope you’ll read the book… some differences of course. I’m tempted by the Potato book but probably won’t get to it any time soon. I’m so behind on my books. And, thank you for playing 🙂
Melody – You beat me to The Likeness! 🙂 I need to start that and will try to get to it in the next couple of weeks.
Stefanie – I know! It’s had me going to the B&N web site to check out some titles that’s for sure!
Isabel – I wonder how many holds are on it you know. I will check!
Serena – I like the title of that one. I’ll have to check it out.
Danielle – I bet you’d enjoy Brief Gaudy Hour… Historical goodness 🙂 It’s about Anne Boleyn.
I’m glad you added Miss Pettigrew!
Tara – Isn’t that such a sweet book? That’s definitely a Persephone gem!
