I keep thinking I’ll blog tomorrow, no, I’ll blog on the weekend, and the days just keep passing by. I have had a lot of good intentions to come here and tell you about new books I’ve checked out of the library, about book finds at the bookstore and all that but somehow I end up not hitting publish on the blog.
I think it just becomes harder to get back online after a long break. I’m not quite ready to give up on my blog though so my postings may still be a bit sporadic but I’m hoping to get my blogging mojo back one of these days.
In the meantime what can I tell you? I’ve been resting when not working. I am totally into my restorative yoga classes. I think there was a time I felt a slight sense of them not being enough because I wasn’t doing much. Hello, that’s the point. Learning to relax.
Also, as my mom gets older I realize she needs more of my time. So I’ve been watching shows with her, going out with her and trying to juggle that with my often demanding job, regular chores, and of course spending time with my husband.
With regards to my reading this year has just been so odd. I’m not ready to do a end of year wrap up just yet but already I know this will be one of the years with the least amount of books read. I’ve also had a lot of DNFs.
So while I don’t do New Year’s resolutions this year I’m sort of drawn to the idea of planning. Setting good intentions which will hopefully translate to lots of exciting good reads, reconnecting with friends, finding my way into the studio and the big one, re-learning time management. Big dreams but why not right?
Thank you dear bookish friends for not giving up on me.
It took me awhile to get my blogging mojo back too and I thought about giving it up completely but that still seems to be something I can’t completely do.
Your goals for the New Year sound great and I wish you all the best!
Best of luck with your plans, Iliana! I completely understand not having as much room in our life for blogging as before – that happened to me for most of this year. But we’d hate to lose you completely, so even if you only blog sporadically it will always be lovely to hear from you.
*hugs* We’re here whenever you come back to blogging.:-)
I struggle with balance too and one thing I love about the blogging community is that it’s always there when I come back from one of my more and more frequent breaks… We’ll still be here Iliana, no matter how often you post!
I’m so glad to see your post, Iliana!
I haven’t been reading many books this year either… but comparing to not reading at all, I think we are still doing good! 😛
And, we’ll be here even if you blog sporadically. 🙂
I am glad to know that you are still taking care of yourself.
The “old babies” take a lot of energy. I am going through the same thing!
Keep up the faith.
Can I steal this post? 😉 J/K, but I sure feel the same. Not blogging very much. Not reading very much. Busy with work and spending far too much time on Facebook and reading other blogs. Just not feeling compelled to write/post my own reviews. I was thinking about a new template for the New Year, but I’m not even sure I want to continue with the whole thing. We’ll see. I think I’m just tired (retail in December is always exhausting) and feeling burned out. That said, it was good to read your post!!
We’ll be here whenever and whatever you choose to post!
It is so hard to come back after a long break! But we’ll definitely be here when you get back into things. 🙂
I get quiet on my blog sometimes, too, and then I do find it hard come back. I feel like all I ever say is that I am still alive but… This year has been a good blogging year, but next year I might lose interest. It just seems to happen despite the best intentions.
I think we all go through phases when it comes to blogging, and of course, real life is more important. Just take your time; we’ll be here when you’re ready to come back in full!
Glad all is well. Sometimes taking a break ends up being more than expected, but that’s ok. Looking forward to when you get back into the swing of things!
I often find it tough to come back to blogging after a long break. I’m always trying not to be so restrictive in what I blog about so that if the reading is “eh” then I’m still blogging about something.
I hope you have a really wonderful Christmas. And yes, spend as much time with your mom as you can!
Hugs.
I have good intentions too and have the same struggle you do with keeping up with my blog and my blogging friends. I think your priorities are in the right order and you will find where blogging will fit in with your new list of things you need to do. Glad to hear from you and to know that you are well. Enjoy the holidays!
Always happy to see you post whenever you get the chance or feel inspired. It sounds like you have lots of good things going on in your life that are more important than daily updates here, which is totally cool. Have a great holiday and I hope you find some good books to read!
Awww it’s nice that you have such a full life at the moment though right? A shame you’ve hit so many DNFs, but I’m sure the perfect book is just around the corner. Love your Christmas banner by the way 🙂
