It’s so funny, I’ve been a lady of leisure now for almost two months and I still get excited about the weekend. I guess it’s just habit.
So I’m still trying to catch up on my book reviews but I get sidetracked by picking up new books to read. Currently I’m reading Last Rituals by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. I love mysteries and even better when they are set in a foreign location.
Also to those of you who read The Owl Service, the Slaves of Golconda discussion starts today!
I’m off to go look for some paper and have a date night at the bookstore. I’ll try to post more on The Owl Service and other books I’ve been reading soon. Have a great weekend everyone!

Have fun at Paper Arts – they have some wonderful papers. I am thinking that I might need to see your list of Etsy favorite shops (hint, hint)….
Have a great weekend!
Wow, date night at the bookstore. You are one lucky woman. Wow.
Lady of Leisure for two months?!?! I HAVE been gone a long time!
I saw a copy Last Rituals in the store the other day and it caught my interest. I’ll be eager to read your thoughts on it when you finish!
I am a lady of leisure, also. It’s fabulous. I have been applying for jobs but I’m afraid that overseas the options are extremely limited. And honestly I’m in no rush.
Lucky duck! A date at the book store?! I can’t wait to go to bookstores again when I’m home for the holidays.
Being a lady of leisure sounds like fun!! Actually, I quit my job in August, and have been home since. While I love being home, it’s time to get back to work. I have a new job that starts on the 17th. MUCH better company. The Red Cross. And at least I can feel that I’m working at a job that actually MEANS something.
Christine – I bought stuff!! 🙂 I’ll share my Etsy list – I promise.
Heather – I am indeed. So glad my husband loves books and bookstores as much as I do.
Carl V. – I got laid off and am enjoying this lady of leisure thing a lot 🙂
Literary Feline – So far it is good but I have to stop myself from comparing it to Jar City by Indridason, another Icelandic author. I’ll definitely post my thoughts on it.
aka Nik – I haven’t even looked for jobs. I’ll have to of course but I’m taking the time off to focus on me. It’s been a long time 🙂
Stephanie – Ooh congrats on the new job! How exciting. I’m kind of doing a lot of soul searching too and seeing what I’d like to do next. A job that MEANs something would be nice.
I’ve been so out of it for the last couple of weeks but I’m back, writing and visting my favourite blogs. You know, in Singapore, ladies of leisure are called ‘tai-tai’. Very enviable position to be. So enjoy it while you can. 🙂 A date at a bookstore? How romantic!!
Sorry about the lay off, but I am glad you are enjoying yourself!
Kisane – Tai-tai? That sounds cute 🙂 Have you been super busy?
Carl V. – Thanks! 🙂
