Where has February gone? I was just looking back over my list of books read and I’ve only read two books this month. Two. I’ve started several books and put them aside but I’m hoping that March will be a better reading month. It’s not really about the number of books read but hopefully fewer false starts.
I also wanted to say that I really enjoyed your comments on my post about Outlander. I haven’t picked it up again yet as I got distracted by another book but I will go back to it. I decided that even though I didn’t like the one scene I mentioned, I’m still very curious about other parts of the book so for that reason I’ll go back to it.
What book did I get distracted by? The Laws of Harmony by Judith Ryan Hendricks. I’m really enjoying this book. I think it’s just what I needed to get me out of my reading rut.
This weekend as usual, we had our date night at the bookstore and just as we were leaving I saw If Books Could Kill by Kate Carlisle, which is the second in the mystery series featuring a bookbinder. Well, you know I couldn’t leave that one behind so I treated myself to this new mystery.
Anyway, that’s about it for now. I think I’ll go catch up on my current read.
I felt I didn’t read too many books last month too. I guess it has got a bit to do with the chinese new year holidays and so forth, or maybe some of the books I chose tend to be a little longer. 😛
I love that book title by Kate Carlisle! Happy reading, Iliana!
I’ve been a tad depressed by my lack of reading as well. I’m chalking it up to an involved bathroom renovation, various outdoor projects, an upcoming book fair, kids, you name it. I find it curious that my whole mojo is affected by how many books I read in a month!
This has been an off month for me too…I haven’t read any of Kate Carlisle so I will have to see about that 🙂 Enjoy your new book.
Fewer false starts make reading much better, it’s so nice not to have to work really hard to get into a book.
Add me to the list of readers who had a slow Febrauary. In my case I’m blaming it on work. I did manage to read 6 books, but most of them were trashy romance novels. The highlight of my month was the new Anne Tyler, Noah’s Compass. Here’s to a big reading March!
I actually didn’t do too badly in February. I think it rained so much I didn’t have a choice. I went to the bookstore last night and picked up a Louise Penny. I think you had mentioned her here?
That other title you find sounds really great. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Enjoy.
It’s raining here today, I only teach one class, and I have a stack of books. Yippee!
False starts are such a pain, aren’t they? I feel the same way and they happen far too often for my taste. 🙂
I’ve had a slow reading month too. I guess we are all a bit caught up by the winter doldrums or the short month or something. In any case I finished a book last night and have started another so this month is already off to a better start.
I think that I won’t read much this month and the next. The weather is finally getting nice!
On to a Happy Reading Month of March! Take care of yourself. 🙂
I only read 4 in February. The Olympics (Apolo Ohno!) and the blizzard really screwed up my reading schedule. Hope you get more accomplished this month!
I only managed to read two books in February too. I’ve got quite a few commitments in March reading wise so if I can actually swing it, I’ll be reading quite a bit more. And maybe I’ll actually get back to visiting my blogger friends too. I haven’t been able to fit much of that in lately, I’m afraid. I hope you are feeling better and have a good March!
I’m glad you enjoyed The Laws of Harmony. It’s one of my favorites of Hendricks’. Love that location. I went back to my review and saw that you won your copy from Tara. You’ll have to give Bread Alone a try one of these days. And Isabelle’s Daughter.
