While I read some great books this year I can say that it was not as great a reading year as others. I had a lot of DNFs and this is perhaps the least amount of books I’ve read in a long time. I also didn’t get a chance to read any classics, no short story collections, and no graphic novels.
But with 2012 almost here I’m feeling quite hopeful about the books I’ll read next year. I’m not one to make resolutions but I do like to say I have good intentions and I have plenty of those for the coming year. I like the idea of a fresh start. Returning to my blog, to my studio and to all of those things that lift my spirits.
I wish you all a very happy 2012. May you find your life bursting with health, happiness and heaps of good books!
Hugs,
Iliana
You had a good reading year. I hope 2012 is as good or better for you.
Iliana, it’s been so long since we last talked. I was going through my old emails and found some emails we had sent each other so I ran to your blog and started reading.
I am now living and working in New Mexico and won’t be going back to Texas. My life has changed so much, but I miss all my bookish friends in Texas. I’m so glad I got to meet you at the book festival last year and hope to go in 2012.
I hope you have a wonderful 2012 and that life gets a little less busy so you have more time to read!
I really need to read Her Fearful Symmetry. I think I am a bit scared I won’t like it…
Happy happy New Year, iliana! I’m so glad you are still managing to post (and read) despite a busy year. I love your list of favourites Dorothy Whipple is a particular favourite of mine, and I’m looking forward to the Amor Towles book, too.
You had a busy year and still read plenty of good books! Happy New Year!
Cheers to 2012, Iliana! May it be an awesome year for reading and everything else, too.
I really need to make sure I read Dorothy Whipple in 2012. Best wishes for the New Year!
That is a great list! I totally enjoyed Her Fearful Symmetry and One Day. Hope you had a great New Year and look forward to seeing what you are up to in 2012!
Happy New Year Iliana! I really must check out both your favorite mysteries–you are now the second person to list them as good reads for last year! I loved both Rules of Civility and Someone at a Distance, too. I hope this year is both happy and fruitful for you! Many good wishes to you!
Happy New Year, Iliana!
I’ve added that Japanese mystery to my wishlist. 🙂
Happy new year! Glad you’re taking an optimistic approach to reading in 2012.
I need to read “One Day” and “Her Fearful Symmetry” after reading so many rave reviews on them. Hope you’ve a great reading year in 2012!
