Another year is ending and it is time for a recap of my reading year. I love to go over my spreadsheet (yes, I keep an excel spreadsheet) and look over all the books I’ve read.
I get to do a bit of reminiscing about the great books, maybe even the not so great ones. But anyway, let’s get started.

The reason I break out favorites in Fiction and Mystery but not other genres is because those are the genres I read the most and feel like I can make a better comparison.
I’m very happy to have finally added more non-fiction, at least one classic, several poetry collections and even a horror book. I love to see a variety of genres so this was great. I didn’t get any YA reading done or Fantasy but there’s always next year.
Also audiobooks did not happen this year. I tried a few but always had to return them to the library before I was finished with them. I actually had several DNFs this year but didn’t keep track. I think I need to do that next year.
Finally with respect to reading challenges as you can see I joined a lot of challenges and reading projects but only finished two. I’m not sure which ones I’ll join in 2016 but I’ll keep you posted.
As usual, no reading goals for 2016 but just wishing that a lot of good books end up on my nightstand. I wish you all the best in the New Year and may it be filled with a lot of health, happiness and great books!
Americanah is so great. And I need to try that Tasha Alexander series, as it sounds just like my sort of thing. Happy New Year, Iliana!
The Kind Worth Killing was on my list as well. And I enjoyed The Last Policeman and have also read And Only To Deceive. I definitely want to read The Dinner in 2016. It’s been on my Kindle for a long time. My audiobook numbers were almost 50% of my reading. Can you believe? Think part of it is due to listening in the car and it takes me a while to get anywhere and also my listening while exercising.
Happy New Year to you, Iliana! May 2016 be a joyful, peaceful year for you!
I think I am giving up on audio books though I have quite a few of them saved or loaded on my MP3 player. Maybe in the summer? It’s just too cold to listen to anything on my walks to the bus! It looks like you had a great reading year–I am always happy when I manage more of the genres I tend to neglect the most. I will have to check out those favorite mysteries–I was just thinking that I need to get back to those by Tasha Alexander! Happy New Year Iliana–I wish all good things for you and your family. And I hope to be a better ‘visitor’ next year, too!
Happy New Year, Iliana! I enjoyed reading your list and I’m glad to hear you’ve added The Last Policeman and The Kind Worth Killing onto your list as well. They’re my favourite reads last year, too. 🙂
I really do have to get around to reading Americanah! A good year of reading. May 2016 be just as good or even better! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!!
I LOVED “The Dinner”; Koch when I read it – disturbing but good.
I keep a spreadsheet too, so you aren’t alone. 🙂 I really want to read The Dinner. It’s on my wish list at the moment. I am so glad to see The Policeman made your list. I loved that one so much! Here’s to a great 2016 in books! Happy New Year, Iliana!
Americanah is really great! I liked that one a lot this year too.
I loved The Dinner, too! Hope to read Americanah or one of that author’s other books sometime this year.
You did great, the excel spreadsheet is a good idea. I’m a fan of audio books because I can listen while I crochet. I also enjoy winding down at night with my audio book before falling asleep.
I enjoyed The Dinner. I keep an excel spreadsheet too, it helps with looking over the previous year of books. As an audiobook lover, I hope you find one that sticks! Happy New Year.
I loved The Dinner; by Koch – disturbing but addictive. His second book Summer House with Swimming Pool is good as well.
I’ve been wanting to read The Dinner. Like you, I’m not setting any reading goals for this year. I think I’d be setting myself up for failure! 😉 Happy new year!
