I’ve had a great reading year and enjoyed so many books. I feel bad about leaving some out and I know as soon as I post this I’ll regret not adding some others, but I’ll stick with this list.
Mmm, I totally want to read Love is a Mix Tape. One of these days!
I’ll be working on my own best of list soon. It’s going to be interesting.
I have A Fine Balance on my TBR list for next year. More books to add!
I’m thrilled you enjoyed my book!
And it makes me equally happy to see Roberta Isleib’s book on your list as well. She and I were in the same writing group for six years, until my life became too chaotic to continue.
Mary-Ann Tirone Smith’s book is truly amazing. I interviewed her 20 years ago when her first book came out and we became great friends. While GIRLS OF TENDER AGE is her best book, in my opinion, her fiction is really not to be missed.
I love reading everyone’s favorites too!! Of course, it just adds more books to MY TBR list!!
I think Book Thief will be my number one book this year! It was just so good. I still have to read Twilight…..and I have a Fine Balance on my list as well.
Susan – Oh I hope you do. It was really a sweet book and well a great way to remember songs I’ve enjoyed a lot 🙂 Can’t wait to see your list!
Chrisbookarama – I know, isn’t this a great way to add to the lists? I know I’ve been doing just that 🙂
Karen – It really was a pleasure reading your book and I’ve enjoyed getting to meet you too! I didn’t know you knew Roberta! How cool is that. Loved her book and it. I will look for Mary-Ann’s fiction too.
Stephanie – I know! And, The Book Thief was so special. Every time I think of that book I swear I could probably start crying again. Gah, it was just so sad. Twilight is like fun!
Best of the Year lists are fun to read but bad for the wishlist! Twilight was one of my favourites of the year too. And I really do intend to finally read Suite Française next year.
Oooh! All kinds of goodies for my TBR!
What a good year of reading you’ve had! Hope 2008 is just as good or even better!
Tanabata – I know, aren’t they wonderful. Well, maybe not so wonderful for the TBR lists. hee, hee.
Andi – Yay 🙂
Stefanie – Aw thanks. Just going by the books for the challenges I think it will be a good reading year.
There are some good books on that list! I really liked the Brookner one.
Dorothy W. – That was really a fabulous read and to know that there are so many Brookner novels awaiting me is great 🙂
I’m thrilled that some of your favorites are already on TBR Mountain or my bookmooch wishlist. It’s so much fun to start a book knowing other people loved it. I think I’ll add the Pym and Minot to my wishlist!
Connie Willis is an award winning author about whom I know very little and haven’t read any of her work. I’ve added at least one book to my wishlist of hers as I really need to read her this coming year. Plus I’m trying to expand my reading of Hugo and Nebula winners.
The Book Thief is one I will be reading this next year, my wife will see to that! She loved it. Actually, I am really looking forward to it.
Love the title “Love is a Mixed Tape”. Very fun.
Dew – Yay! You’ll have some great books to look forward to then 🙂 I know I must read another Pym. I’m sure I’ll love it.
Carl V. – Thanks to you I discovered Connie Willis. She was one of the authors I chose for the Once Upon a Time Challenge. I really was so surprised at the good books I read for that challenge so I’m ready for the next one 🙂 Oh and believe me you’ll love Book Thief – just have some Kleenex handy!
I’m having fun perusing your list–many favorites of mine appear there, and others I will add to my list…
