Thanks to my mom who picked out the numbers for the drawing, the winners of the library pocket books are:
Stephanie from The Written Word
Sara from Libromancy
Maggie from Maggie Reads
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy these. Send me an email with your address and I’ll get these little books out to you. I do love making little books to give away which means I should think of more contests. Granted that would mean I need to work faster. Yikes.
Know why else a drum roll is needed today? I have started Emma by Jane Austen. I’ve only read one Jane Austen book (Northanger Abbey) so this is big news. Also, it’s my first book for the Classics Challenge. Only 45 pages into it and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Emma is so wonderful — I hope you enjoy it!
I Won! Thank You! *Blows Kisses*
Interesting that your first Austen book was Northanger Abby and not Pride & Prejudice. I’ve not read Northanger – should I? Emma I quite enjoyed but P&P will always be my favourite.
I love Emma. Good choice to start with. Congrats to all those lucky winners. Have a great weekend. Look forward to catching up soon.
I hated Emma. H-a-t-e-d it. It took me 6 tries before I finally read the whole book. And now I think I kinda like it. ha! I found it interesting that Austen apparently admitted that Emma wasn’t very likeable.
P&P was my first and my favourite and likely always will but but Persuasion is gaining ground and I cannot understand why it’s discussed and referred to so rarely.
I loved Persuasion–and P&P. I loved the movie, Emma, but have yet to read the book. Maybe this year!
I can’t believe this is only the second Jane Austen novel you’ve read!! I went on a Jane Austen spree in my teens and again a few years ago! I love them all as much as the other!! Enjoy!!
Dorothy – Thanks, I will report back! Maggie – awww! Kisane – Yes, read Northanger Abbey. It’s one of my all time favorites. Christine – Have a great weekend girlie. Sassy – I loved your comment and it made me laugh because it’s like you’d never expect anyone to ever say anything bad about a Jane Austen novel 🙂 Glad to hear you’re reconsidering though. Danielle – I haven’t seen the movie either and I hope this year I get through two Jane Austen novels. Claire – I know, where’s my bookgirl credibility right? 🙂
You know my travails with Jane Austen – but I’ve never tried Emma! And how I love the movie! So maybe I should give that one a whirl as well.
Sam – Oh you should! By the way, guess what else I’m reading? Anne Lamott – I know how much you love her.
See, I never thought Northanger Abbey was one of Austen’s better books, but some people love it best. My favorite is P&P, but I think you should save it. Enjoy Emma.
My favorite is P & P. I wasn’t as captivated by Emma, but after seeing the movie (with Gwyneth Paltrow) and Clueless, I think I’d enjoy better.
Adrienne and Jenclair – You know, I feel as if I’m reading Jane Austen out of order as everyone usually says P&P is their favorite. In a way it’s cool – I’m saving the best for last! I do remember enjoying Clueless a lot so I will have to watch it again after I finish Emma 🙂
Well, somehow you vanished off my links. I thought there was a blog I hadn’t seen in a while! Must correct that.
Emma was the only Austen that I didn’t enjoy. I’m interested in seeing how your experience goes.
