I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed catching up with a dear friend, I tried to organize my studio a bit and definitely did not do as much reading as I wish I could have.
So I thought I’d give you the rundown on my current reads, which still consist of some of my current reads from a couple of weeks ago.
- I started The Inquisitor’s Key and at first I was struggling a bit with this one because I wanted to read other books but today I caught part of a program my mom was watching on the Shroud of Turin and some of the history and it actually made me want to get back to the book. I love it when life and books collide.
- Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls by David Sedaris. I’m a big David Sedaris fan so I’m enjoying this book. I don’t listen to audiobooks but this is one I probably would enjoy.
- Dead Scared by S.J. Bolton. I’ve really enjoyed this author’s books and I was so excited to read this book because it featured a character from a previous novel and now I realize she’s writing a series. Yay. I did finish this one which was great so I hope to have a little review for you soon.
Missing from the picture are Accidents Happen which I’m slowly getting through. It’s my work lunchtime book so I don’t always get to read it and The Rules of Engagement which has been languishing on my nightstand because of the deadlines (bookclub or library) requiring me to finish other books first.
Alright and now it’s back to my book club book. Yikes, I’m not even half way through it and book club is Tuesday. What book are you trying to finish soon?
I’m interested in The Inquisitor’s Key; David Sedaris is funnier to listen to than to read…his voice is half the fun. S.J. Bolton always holds my interest even though I have quibbles. Dead Scared filled the bill on suspense.
David Sedaris has been so hit or miss for me that I think I need to listen to his stuff rather than read it. I’ve heard good things about Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls so I hope you enjoy it! I just finished Naked a few weeks ago and it had its moments…
Organizing is something that I need to be doing, too. Sometimes a happy workspace/studio makes all the difference!
Hope you have a great week!
I’m trying to finish A Grave Talent by Laurie King–a mystery set in San Francisco. It’s good, but I set it aside temporarily and now really want to get back into it and finish…. Weekends always go far too quickly. And I like SJ Bolton’s books–she’s good for suspense! I look forward to getting to her newest!
Can’t wait for Diabetes with Owls. It’s waiting patiently on my Nook.
jenclair – Yes, his voice is half the fun! True about Bolton. This book if I really think about some of the actions, well it really strains credibility, but somehow she makes it work.
Trish – Have you ever heard his Christmas elf story? OMG, that is hilarious. And, yes, a clean workspace can make all the difference. I just wonder how it goes back to the mess so quickly! haha…
Danielle – Is A Grave Talent from her other series? I feel like I may have read that one. I still need to read the Sherlock series she has. And, I’m looking forward to the next Bolton book – yay!
Andi@Estella’s Revenge – The first essay is great. There is another one I read that he’s speaking as another person – work of fiction? Not sure that I liked that as much. I’ll keep you posted!
