I was planning to get a lot of reading done over the holidays but for all sorts of reasons I really slacked off. Oh no, I can see my stats for next year not living up to my 96 for 2005.
I did finish Red Poppies by Alai. I’ll have to write a review later because it was a book I didn’t enjoy much, yet I think it was important to have read it. Why did I stick with it you ask? It was the January selection for my foreign authors book group which met last night.
Now I’m in the middle of The Typhoon Lover by Sujata Massey. This is the latest in the Rei Shimura series. I needed something light after Red Poppies.
I’m also slowly but surely delving into English Passengers and Chronicle of a Death Foretold. I’ll keep you posted on how I like them. I hope everyone has started their year with some fascinating reads.
