I didn’t plan that little blog break but I’ve just been so busy and have needed a bit of downtime. Of course I’m counting the days because soon the busy-ness will be over and I’ll be enjoying vacation. I just have to hang in there a bit more.
I have been reading of course but just not as much. I did finish the wonderful Rules Of Civility by Amor Towles and will tell you more about it soon. Then I wanted to read comfort book and was about to open a mystery but somehow I ended up with Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson and it was a good choice indeed.
What else am I thinking about lately? Well, the fact that even though my Kindle is pretty well stocked up for my trip I don’t think I’ll just rely on that. I won’t be packing too many books but I must take some just in case.
Alright, off to rest up before another long day tomorrow.
I like the way you just don’t trust technology that much when it comes to reading. I will be interested to know how you enjoyed reading from a screen versus paper during your vacation. That sounds like the way to go when traveling but my heart would ache not to hold a real book and not smelling the paper and ink… Take good care Iliana
I can’t trust my technology either. My e-reader can only be charged with a computer. I wish I had known that when I bought it… I am reading Rules of Civility right now and enjoying it right now!
Last time I went away I took one actual book with me just for take off and landing when you can’t use electronic devices!
Glad you enjoyed Major Pettigrew!
It is hard to not to take books with you at all 🙂 I hope you have a relaxing vacaion that you are looking forward to 🙂
Glad to hear you liked Rules of Civility!
Sometimes it is just nice to take a break and relax. Enjoy!
I really liked the Towles book, too! I hear you on being busy–I bet you can’t wait for vacation-time. I’d be planning my books out as well–what to take and what to load onto the ereader!
Isn’t it fun to have a vacation to look forward to? I’ll bet you’ll be happy to go some place a little bit cooler!! I keep looking at the Dallas temps (my daughter lives there) and can’t believe they’ve been at or above 100 for this long. Yuck.
I enjoyed Major Pettigrew, too. I listened to it on audio and thought it was simply delightful.
Enjoy your vacation Iliana 🙂
Nice to see you back here. Hope all of your preparations for your trip are going well.
Glad you’re getting the downtime you need. I have a vacation coming up next week and I cannot wait!!!
Glad you enjoyed Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand. It’s high on my wishlist.
