I just got back from the library book sale. Thirteen books for $16. Woo-hoo.
Here’s what I found:
Seven Ian Rankin Inspector Rebus books. I like this series.
Ghostwritten by David Mitchell
A Spectacle of Corruption by David Liss
City of the Mind by Penelope Lively
A Place of Execution by Val McDermid
Passage by Connie Willis
The Death of the Heart by Elizabeth Bowen (mine is a Modern Library first edition – it’s gorgeous!)
Other book goodness involves The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, a book I’m eager to read as so many of you are raving about it. The publisher is currently sponsoring a sweepstakes to win a signed, leather-bound copy of the book. Visit The Thirteenth Tale official site before November 30 and enter “The Thirteenth Tale Special Leather-Bound Edition Sweepstakes.”
Other exciting stuff, Saturday is Oktoberfest and Mexican Independence Day so there will be some celebrating going on in our Haus/casa. Bring on the bratwurst and chile rellenos!
Hope your weekend is wunderbar/excelente and tschüss/hasta pronto!
