Hey Friends, I didn’t mean to be away from the blog for a week but it’s been busy around here. It all started off with us going to a concert last week – we got to see The Waterboys. That was so much fun. I didn’t really know their music so the whole experience was new to me but I really enjoyed it.
The weekend flew by as my husband and I finally did our vacation planning. I’m so excited about our trip later this year. Believe it or not, it’s not to Germany! I will miss going to Germany this summer but who knows, maybe we can squeeze in another trip later. Or we win the lottery and we go off traveling for good. I like that idea. Ha.
I also worked on some art journaling and caught up on my latest issue of Art Journaling magazine. I’m hoping to get inspired to finish a two page spread. I feel like it is missing something.
In other reading news I finished The Gone Dead Train by Lisa Turner. I met with my mystery book group last night and we discussed this read. It’s a 2015 Edgar nominee for Best Paperback Original. I liked some aspects of this but it didn’t wow me. I’ll try to write up more on this one soon.
What about you? What have you been up to?
Ah, such a shame you aren’t going to Germany this summer! One of my friends is living in Berlin so I will be going over at some point this summer! Doh! Sounds like you have been having a great week! C xx
Very mysterious! If not Germany, then… Glad you enjoyed your vacation planning and look forward to hearing about where you have decided to go.
Not going to Germany? Where are you going? Do tell!
I am glad you had a good time at the concert. 🙂 A vacation! Are you going somewhere you’ve been before or is this an entirely new destination? I love vacation planning. Not the money part, but deciding where to go and what to do. We’re hoping we can take a little vacation this year since we didn’t get to last year. Money continues to be tight, but we may try to do something more local, but still away.
OK, I’ll admit that I’ve been curious about The Gone Dead Train. I knew it was an Edgar nominee and was considering whether to read it. I’m thinking maybe not to rush it now. Yay for vacation planning. Yay for concerts. Nice to see a post from you. I’m loving the wildflowers and I just killed a giant centipede on my back porch. It must be spring. LOL
So where are you going off to instead?? I’m sure it is still as wonderful a place as Germany is! I have been mostly MIA this week as well. It has been busy and then it was just hard to find time to blog.
Work, work, work unfortunately! Do tell–I hope you are going somewhere exciting! 🙂 I did manage to go to my local museum this week and do a docent-lead tour of the new exhibit–I always pick up some really interesting bits when I do a little tour. And (yes, the small things in life) a new little independent coffee shop just opened up very close to my house–it is only a five or ten minute walk away–and I have been there twice already–could be dangerous. I will have to take a book there soon and sit with a nice cappuccino!
My husband had been to Germany once during one of his business trips and he told me there are many gorgeous tourist attractions there. I wish I’ll be able to visit Germany one day!
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed yourself at the concert. 🙂 Looking forward to your thoughts on The Gone Dead Train.
I have been taking week long breaks here and there too. Just too much going on and not enough time to get it all done. I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on The Gone Dead Train as I am always intrigued by any book that is an Edgar nominee. Hope you are having a great week!
