Over the past few weeks I’ve received quite a few new books. With the exception of one book, all the rest are ARCs and all a surprise to me. Not a bad thing of course but that just means I have to find more time to fit them in my reading schedule and find room for them on my shelves. So here they are:
- Barnacle Love by Anthony De Sa (won from a giveaway Stefanie hosted – thank you Stefanie!).
- The Bird of the River by Kage Baker.
- Bad Penny Blues by Cathi Unsworth
- A Curable Romantic by Joseph Skibell
- The Last Letter from Your Lover by Jojo Moyes
- Prospero in Hell by L. Jagi Lamplighter
- A Bad Day’s Work by Nora McFarland
- Over the Edge by Norah McClintock
- Double Cross by Norah McClintock
- Going Away Shoes by Jill McCorkle
- The Last Page by Anthony Huso
- A Star Shall Fall by Marie Brennan
- Haunted Legends
- Exley by Brock Clarke
Aren’t I a lucky Bookgirl? Have you read some of these? Now, excuse me while I go find some space on the shelves for my new books.

If you can find room on your shelves, good luck!! My husband counted thirty books on just my nightstand and pronounced that I was “different.” 🙂
All my bookshelves are full! Now my newly acquisitions are stacked in piles and they are all over the place, LOL. I need to buy a bookshelf soon!! 😛
I am seriously feeling overwhelmed by ARCs.
Wow! That’s a lot of ARCs. I do love them, but it also adds a glaze of pressure to the reading experience!
Wow, you have a huge stack but I’m sure you will enjoy them. I think I have a book by Jill McCorkle somewhere around here and now you’ve reminded me to look for it!
Glad you got the book! You’ve got a good pile of reading to choose from for the Labor Day weekend!
Natalie – Haha… I love that. What can we say, it’s an addiction 🙂
Melody – I have an area just for ARCs but they are going to be overtaking more bookshelf space that’s for sure. Granted, that’s a good problem to have right 🙂
diane – I know. I’ve stopped accepting a bunch which has been hard as I’ve been offered some great books but I just don’t speed read that’s for sure!
andi – I agree and that’s when I start to feel like it becomes a burden. I want to read them but I just can’t read fast enough and I also have my reads I want to get to.
Kathleen – Oh Jill McCorkle is great. I read Ferris Beach earlier in the year and it was just a great story.
Stefanie – Thank you! Actually we are getting ready to go on vacation and I can’t take any of these books as they are all hardcovers or larger size paperbacks and I’m trying to economize space but they’ll be waiting for me 🙂
It is fun getting books in the mail as a surprise, though I don’t get them very often–I am reading Bad Penny Blues, though, and really enjoying it! I had no idea there was a new Kage Baker book out (I thought she had passed away?). Jojo Moyes is someone I’d like to read, and the rest are all new to me titles–must go check them out!
wow, happy reading. I saw A Curable Romantic at the bookstore last week.
oh yes, you are on lucky bookgirl 🙂
