This weekend involved two trips to the bookstore and a trip to the library. Now this was a good weekend. So between stops at Barnes & Noble and Half Price Books I found the following books:
In A Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. This one seems to have been on everyone’s must read list. I am excited about it.
I also found The Daughter by Jane Shemilt which I know some of you have read and if I remember correctly it was recommended.
The Expats by Chris Pavone was another of those books that I felt like I saw on a lot of lists. I love a good thriller so I hope this one won’t disappoint.
The House of Vestals by Steven Saylor is for my mystery book group read in a couple of months. This should be interesting as I believe it’s several stories so not our typical read.
Finally, Decked With Folly by Kate Kingsbury. I don’t read a lot of cozies but this is for my December mystery book group meeting and we tried to find something with a holiday theme. I’ve already started this one.
Have you read any of these? What did you think? And, what about you, did you get a new book(s) this weekend?
I’ve read a few of the Gordianus the Finder books by Saylor over the years and enjoyed them. Love a good historical mystery! On the other hand, I’ve never been much for short stories. I liked In a Dark, Dark Wood and have Expats on my list. 🙂
I haven’t yet read The Daughter, but it’s one I keep meaning to get to. I have read Chris Pavone’s The Expats and enjoyed that. I hope you will like it too. I received a poetry book in the mail for an upcoming tour next month. I am looking forward to reading it.
