I hope you all had a great weekend. I got to do a bit of organizing, biking and resting. I also went back to Half Price Books as I had a coupon and found two books.
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent which if I remember correctly had a lot of buzz in the blogosphere when it first came out. My other find was The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty which I think has also had it’s share of fame. Quite different books but I think they sound like good reads.
Then while I was checking out I saw this little flyer for a Pop-up Sale coming up in April. I went to that sale last year and unfortunately it was a bit of a bust. Partly it was my fault because I went during my lunch hour and little did I know the line to check out was really long. Between getting there, finding books and then checking out I just couldn’t spend that much time.
I’m not sure if I’ll make it this year but it’s good to know that this is happening and we’ll see, maybe it’ll be better luck this time.
Finally, this evening I was checking out Facebook and I saw this post from BookRiot on cool bookish places. I’ve already told my cousins that next time I’m in Monterrey, we are going there!
Alright, I’m way behind on my book group read so off to catch up on that. Hope you have a great week ahead!
I managed to stay away from HPB this weekend, though I did have the coupons too. LOL
I really liked THE HUSBAND’S SECRET and have had BURIAL RITES for quite a while. Heard good things. I didn’t get to that sale last year, but I may try to make this year’s event. We’ll see. Not that I need any more books at all – truly.
Both books were disappointing .
Nice finds! And yay for biking! Wish I could have had some rest but I was busy and the time change completely messed me up.
I liked The Husband’s Secret and intended to read more by Moriarty, but haven’t yet. Burial Rites definitely catches my attention. Do you ever wonder why so many law-abiding citizens are such fans of murder and mayhem?
Both books certainly have a lot of fans in the blogosphere. I haven’t read either but I have heard most of the buzz. Hope you enjoy them. And if you do go to the Popup Sale, I would like to hear all about it!
I’ve The Husband’s Secret in my pile but not sure when I’ll read it, though. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
I hope you enjoy The Husband’s Secret. I haven’t yet read Burial Rites, but I would like to.
