You didn’t think I was going to stop buying books after I got the Kindle did you? I mentioned sometime last week that I bought some books on Amazon but I guess with all the snow storms everywhere my box of books is still in transit. Darn.
But, I did have a coupon for Borders and so yesterday when we went out for our date night I bought The Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli on the recommendation of Melody, Sandy, Naida and many more of you who’ve loved the book. I can’t wait to read it.
I also found The Company of Liars by Karen Maitland which was a book I had wanted to buy some time ago but hadn’t been able to find until now.
Also yesterday was a good mail day as I got Dreaming in English by Laura Fitzgerald which I won from a giveaway on Serena’s blog. Good times for my shelves.
Finally today I went to my new mystery book group and we had a very fun and lively discussion of Pronto by Elmore Leonard (I didn’t like it). I’ve only met with the group twice but I think I’m really going to enjoy this group. The discussion often veered into other topics but it was always entertaining.
That’s the scoop for now. I know I keep saying reviews to come but really this week I must tell you about some of my recent reads otherwise I’ll completely forget about them. Don’t you hate falling behind on reviews? Happens to me all the time.
I’ve got a copy of Dreaming in English. I didn’t request it, but the publicist who offered it to me, along with Haunting Jasmine, tucked in both books. You won’t hear me complaining! It’s gotten great reviews.
I wasn’t as thrilled with The Lotus Eaters as most, but I did like it. I just didn’t love it. I hope you love it.
I’m so glad you bought The Lotus Eaters! 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you’ll think of it!
And congrats on the win of Dreaming in English! I got this book and I can’t wait to read it.
Hope you have a great week ahead, Iliana!
The Lotus Eaters was really good. I hope you enjoy it!
I bought books in the last month with gift cards and only 3 were e-books. I just can’t see myself giving the real thing up entirely!
Having a Kindle definitely does not keep one from buying more print books! Enjoy your new acquisitions.
I loved The Lotus Eaters! Can’t wait to read your thoughts.
I certainly haven’t stopped buying printed books since I got my Kindle either. If anything I think I buy MORE books because now I buy the printed ones for home and the eBooks for travel!
Enjoy all yoru new books 🙂 The Lotus Eaters was wonderful, I cant wait to read your thoughts on it too!
Bookfool, aka Nancy – Isn’t it nice when you get a book you didn’t expect? It may take me a while to get to the Lotus Eaters but I’m very curious about it.
Melody – I’m very excited about the book I won but I’m wondering if I should read the first one she wrote first. I think this is sort of a continuation although I don’t think it’s necessary to read in order but you know me 🙂
Kailana – I can’t imagine giving up book buying either. I think we are all too addicted to books for that right? 🙂
Stefanie – Good to hear! I can’t imagine getting coupons from HPB and not going right? Ha.
Anna – It seems like it’s been a winner for so many right. I think it’ll be an interesting read!
Kathleen – Haha, oh no now that could present a problem if my book budget suddenly explodes from all the book buying. It is easy to buy on the Kindle isn’t it. You almost feel as if you haven’t quite bought anything. Scary 🙂
bookworm – I’m very excited to have gotten the book so I’ll keep you guys posted!
I hear you. I’m always behind on reviews now it seems. Yay for Compny of Liars, I hope you’re going to find it creepalicious.
