My book packages have arrived! I’ve been on a bit of a buying spree as I had a B&N coupon and then I also found some books through BookOutlet. I have plenty of books on my shelf but I just couldn’t pass these up. Let me know what you think:
Dizzy In Your Eyes: Poems About Love by Pat Mora. I didn’t realize this was a YA poetry collection but I’m still excited about reading this. I’ve read a previous collection by this author and found it very moving so I’m looking forward to this.
Barefoot Dogs by Antonio Ruiz-Camacho. While I don’t typically choose short story collections I was very intrigued by this one because I got the chance to hear the author at the Texas Book Festival event this Fall.
How To Travel Without Seeing by Andres Neuman. This is another author I saw at the Texas Book Festival and I was excited about his book which came about after he was doing a whirlwind book tour traveling through Latin America. I think it will be quite interesting.
The Lost Daughter by Lucretia Grindle. A young woman studying in Italy disappears and her parents are left with a lot of questions about her. I have read a couple of Grindle’s books and found them like good comfort reads so I hope to enjoy this one too.
From the Charred Remains by Susanna Calkins. I read the first mystery in this series several years ago and of course have fallen very behind and couldn’t pass this one up.
Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes. I tried reading this book earlier this year and had to return to the library because I couldn’t finish it on time so no excuses now. Look forward to this even if I was finding a scary/uncomfortable read.
Journal It! by Jenny Doh. A book on journaling. You know I have to have it for my library.
Alright, I have got to get reading don’t you think? Hope you have a wonderful weekend. What are you up to?
Always happy to see those book packages! Happy reading! 🙂
A nice tidy new pile of books to enjoy! Have a good weekend! We are expecting several inches of snow with the promise that this time ti won’t melt so I will be shoveling and trying to stay warm with cats and books and hot coffee and a sweet treat 🙂
I’ve one book by Grindle and one by Calkins and enjoyed them both. I tried Broken Monsters but it ended up DNF–maybe I should have held on longer as I’ve seen it highly rated by others, but…I just couldn’t like it. You have another good haul of books to get through!
I hope you get to lots of great books this weekend!
I read a book by Lauren Buekes this year–The Shining Girl, which I liked though it was very suspenseful and maybe the tiniest bit graphic. I have been buying more books than I should lately, too…. But you have a great stack of books to look forward to!
