Guess what I’m celebrating this Friday? My blog’s 7th anniversary! While I was very excited when I started my blog back in 2004, I don’t think I ever imagined how long I would keep at it. I imagined writing about all things bookish for a while and how fun it would be but wow, I never imagined I’d keep this going for so long. I’m glad I have though.
This year has been a bit more challenging for me on the blog front because I have started working full-time and my job is quite demanding. I’m also trying to spend quality time with my family and friends, keep up with my bookbinding and all the other projects I have going on so yep, blogging has been a bit more hit or miss in recent months. I truly appreciate all of you who are sticking with me and have been so understanding. I’m still trying to learn to balance all of it.
I want to thank my sweet blog friends who comment and send me emails. I love sharing my bookish life with you. Thank you also to all the publishers and publicists who send the ARCs for reviews. I also want to say thank you to those who perhaps never comment but read my blog. Feel free to say hi!
So enough of the mushy stuff, how about a giveaway? You know my tradition right? Leave me a comment and I’ll choose three winners who’ll receive one of my handmade journals! I’ll announce the winers at the end of the month. Oh and if you want you can tell me what your favorite read of the year has been so far.
Now, to properly celebrate I’m going to take a few days off from the blog as I’m meeting up with one of my best friends for a little getaway. So have a lovely weekend and I’ll be back the middle of next week
Smiles,
iliana
Happy Blogiversary, Iliana!! 🙂 Here’s to many more years to come!
Wow. 7 years is so impressive to me. Congratulations and enjoy your much-earned break.
I feel sort of guilty commenting when I’ve only read your blog for the past few months! I wasn’t able to focus on reading for the past few years due to illness so I tried to find as many blogs about books as I could in order to find out what I had missed! So far this year, my favourite read has been “Matched” by Ally Condie. I don’t like dystopian novels usually but I bought this one by accident and LOVED IT! I also found a new thriller/mystery author, Sophie Hannah and read all her books in a matter of a few weeks!
I do journal and would love to win one but, as I said, I haven’t been around for very long so it feels kind of presumptuous to ask to enter.
Congratulations on the blogoversary! for this year my favorite book would be Still Missing by Chevy Stevens. Loved it because it shows the indomitable human spirit and its need to survive.
Seven years! Congratulations, Iliana! I have very much enjoyed getting to know you over the years. Here is to many more wonderful years!
Happy blogiversary, and I hope you have a fabulous trip!
Wow! Seven years! That is amazing. Happy blogiversary Iliana. I look forward to the next seven years.
Wow, 7 years, that’s amazing! Happy Bloggiversary! 🙂
Happy blogiversary Iliana! I know I say this every year, but yours was the very first book blog I ever discovered, and it was definitely my inspiration for starting my own. 😀 Enjoy your trip, and I’m just happy you’ve kept finding time to blog despite your life’s business!
i know what you mean about the struggle – I don’t manage to comment on as many blogs as I used to (although I DO read all the posts in my feeder) or write as many detailed reviews! But seven years is a huge accomplishment, and I’m so glad you are still managing to include blogging in your hectic routine!
OMG that is awesome! I don’t think I knew you’d been at this for 7 years. That is like 30 normal years, right? Anyway, I am so glad I’ve met you. No matter your blogging schedule, I appreciate when I hear from you and hope you have many many more years. And of course I would love a chance at winning another one of your journals. I love mine!
I can’t believe you’ve been doing this for 7 years. Amazing! And to think I only recently discovered that we are in the same city. We’ll get together at some point to swap hellos, I know. Maybe at the book festival in the fall?
My favorite book of this year – hmmm…well, I loved EVERY LAST ONE by Anna Quindlen and I recently loved JOY FOR BEGINNERS by Erica Bauermeister. Oh, and I also loved FALLEN by Karin Slaughter. That’s not one book is it? LOL
Congratulations on your blogversary, Iliana! Enjoy your time away!
Congratulations! I’ve already won one of your lovely journals, so I’ll take a miss this time so that others may have a chance.
Enjoy your little blog vacation!
Congrats and Thank YOU for 7 years of book love. Read you when you get back from your blog vacation. Have a great time!!
Happy bloggiversary! Yours is one of my faves, even if I don’t get to comment as often as I’d like!
Happy bloggiversary Iliana! I’m so glad that I was able to meet you last fall at the Texas Book Festival and begin to get to know you through blogging after that. You have such a warm and sweet spirit! (secretly I wish you still lived up north so we could pal around).
Hope you enjoy your weekend!! I’m ready for a little bit of a reprieve from this heat!
My favorite read was The History of Love. Such a beautiful book.
Happy Bloggiversary! Those seven years have flown by, haven’t they? I think I’ve been reading you for almost that long and I am so glad too. I hope there are many more years yet to come!

Congrats! I think we all understand how hard it is to juggle all the things we want to do every day!
My favorite pick for the year would be any and all of the Sarah Addison Allen books and/or Brunonia Barry! I know that is technically cheating but they were both new to me authors and I LOVED LOVED their books and read all of them this year!!!
Happy Blogiversary! Your blog is one of my first I discovered when I entered this whole book blog world back in 2008. My favorite read in the past 12 months was Fingersmith by Sarah Waters.
Happy Bloggiversary! I’ve been following you ALMOST that long! Wow! Time flies, huh? It has been such a pleasure and I can’t wait to see what the next 7 years bring.
