Guess who turns three this weekend? My blog! That’s three years of writing about books I’ve read, books I’m reading and books I want to read. Best of all, it’s three years of being a part of the wonderful book blog community.
As always, thank you to everyone who visits, comments and shares the love of books. Through you I’ve discovered many new writers and books and I thank you for that. My shelves and TBR list are overflowing.
Now in the yearly Bookgirl tradition, leave me a comment, you can tell me what your favorite read for this year has been or just say hi, and I’ll have a drawing for a special handmade book. I’ll choose a winner Sunday night. Buena Suerte!
Meanwhile, I plan to celebrate the bloggiversary this weekend with a date night at the bookstore, a bit of bookbinding to make that special giveaway book, and hopefully basking in some uninterrupted reading hours. Hope you have a great weekend!
Happy Bloggiversary!
I’m not sure what my favourite read would be over the last 12 months. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and The Thirteenth Tale would be right up there! As to my favourite new author discovery – it would have to be Diana Norman!
Many congratulations!! Perhaps I am a little slow, but three years ago I had no idea that blogs even existed. Well, I guess I was the mother of a very high maintenance 2 year old………
My favorite non-ficiton of the year so far is The Omnivore’s Dilemma, fiction is Miss Mole by E.H. Young.
Have a great weekend, my husband and I used to have frequent bookstore date nights ourselves.
Congratulations! Three years — that’s great! That’s a lot of time and work — I’m so glad you blog! Let’s see — I think the best book I’ve read this year so far is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.
happy early bloggiversary!
here’s to 3 more years.
Happy Bloggiversary. Wow, I can’t believe how quickly time flies! I hope you have many more years of blogging about books; I really love your blog, keep up the great work.
Happy anniversary, Iliana. I looked back over my reading list and while I’ve been happy with what I’ve read this year, I haven’t sustained a “best book of the year” vibe from any of them.
Happy Anniversary and congratulations!! Wow, three years is a long time!
My favorite book so far this year was probably The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. It’s a children’s lit book, but with the drawings and the story, I think any adult could appreciate it. It’s a beautiful book.
And hi!
Happy Anniversary. My favourite read this year would be Stef Penney’s Costa Award winning book, ‘Tenderness of Wolves’. It’s a first novel set in Canada in the 1860s that is so assured and so beautifully written that I just can’t wait to see what else she’ll produce.
Happy third birthday to you (or your blog) 🙂
Hmmm…best of reads for 2007? There’s still half a year to go, so it’s still too early to say. But my best read for the first half of 2007 will probably be “The Cornish Trilogy” by Robertson Davies.
And have fun at the bookstore, or whatever you choose to do to celebrate it.
Cheers!
Happy Anniversary, that’s a long time to have been at it. Wonder what my blog will be doing after three years…
Hmm, best books read this year so far… Just like Tara, non-fiction would go to The Omnivore’s Dilemma, and fiction would be The Kite Runner but a book I’m reading right now, Blood Meridian might take over that spot when I finish.
Happy Bloggiversary! Here’s wishing you many more years of good books and blogging. 🙂
Looking back at what I’ve read since January, my highest rated for the year so far is The Makioka Sisters by Junichiro Tanizaki. Have a lovely celebratory weekend.
Happy Bloggiversary! Wow, three years!
Congratulations Chica! Wow, has it really been three years now? Good for you. You have such a wonderful blog and I know that I can always rely on you for the best book advice!
Sounds like you have the perfect blog-anniversary celebration going on this weekend!
Happy Bloggiversary! Congratulations. I do enjoy your blog quite a bit, Iliana. It’s among my favorites. Have a great time celebrating this weekend.
Yesterday, I was thinking that your anniversary must be coming up.
Congrats!
My favorite book of the year:
Kaballah: A Love Story by Rabbi Kushner
Congrats on your third year Bloggiversary! Wow! I’m a newbie to the book blog community as my reading blog was created in January and I’m already behind on keeping my site updated. :l I still haven’t created a blog roll. May I add your site?
It’s so hard to decide on my favorite read this year. It’s a three way tie between Jane Eyre, Snowflower and The Secret Fan, and the current book I’m reading The Book Thief.
Have a fun weekend celebrating!
A bookstore trip and bookbinding time sound like the perfect bookblog bloggiversary celebration! I’ve been doing so much writing this year that my “have read” list since January is woefully short, which means the TBR list is outrageously long (due, in part, to some of your recommendations!). But I always make time to check your blog, so I definitely want to be in the running for one of your beautiful handmade books. Congrats!
Wow, three years already. Where does the time go??
My favorite so far has to be Austenland, though I enjoyed Climbing the Mango trees, too. But it’s only June… still a lot of time for books.
Congrats on your anniversary!! A very cool thing to be sure. Hmmm….the best book I’ve read so far this year was The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak. It was touching and beautiful and made me cry!
Congrats on three years! I very much enjoyed reading Moloka’i recently and will write a review soon. Don’t worry about including me on the drawing though, since I was a lucky winner of one of your books a while back. I just wanted to say happy bloggiversary!
Three years is a huge accomplishment. I am just getting involved in the book blog community; I’ve been reading yours for a few weeks and finally just started my own book blog. Congratulations!
My favorite book I’ve read so far this year would have to be The Time-Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
Happy Bloggiversary!!!
Three years? That’s fantastic! {And hopefully they’ll be many more to come, too.}
I just discovered you…how could you have been around for three years? Congratulations!
Best book so far this year has to be WHAT THE DEAD KNOW by Laura Lippman.
Happy bloggiversary! I have enjoyed coming here as well–and getting just as many book recommendations!! I think my favorite book this year so far has been Cheri and The Last of Cheri. Have a nice weekend!
Okay I’ll say hi. “Hi!” 🙂
Happy 3rd Bloggiversary! Ditto to you. I’ve found your blog to be even more informative than a book magazine. I’ve reaped great ideas from you. One of the thing I wish to achieve this year is to read more of women writers. And guess what my favorite read of this year so far?
Gentlemen and Players, Joanne Harris.
HAPPY THIRD BIRTHDAY~YOUR BLOG IS A “TODDLER” BUT THANKS TO YOU,ITS CREATOR,IT HAS ALREADY GIVEN US VOLUMES OF KNOWLEDGE AND ENTERTAINMENT.CHEERS~MLH

King, and my favorite fantasy is I, Coriander.
Is that enough favorites? 🙂
Happy Blogiversary! Your weekend sounds like a perfect way to celebrate.
Favorite book so far this year? Hmmm … that’s a tough one already! I’d say it’s a tossup between Slammerkin and Maisie Dobbs.
Yay You! In the interest of expanding your TBR list, my most recent fave read is Black Swan Green by David Mitchell.
Happy Birthday little blog!!! How great that you’ve gone on so long and made so many friends this way.
Favorite most recent read is Murder Runs in the Family by Anne George.
Congratulations! How great, three years! And I have never heard the phrase “happy bloggiversary”, but I love it, so I’m adding it to my lexicon 🙂
Congratulations on three years! that’s hugely impressive. Oh and my favourite book so far this year has been Salley Vickers The Other Side of You.
Happy Anniversary!
My favourite book for this year has to be Brian Slattery’s Spaceman Blues which I reviewed over at Estella’s Revenge a few months ago
Happy bloggiversary! I think my favorite book so far in 2007 is Fun Home by Alison Bechdel.
I would love to enter your contest! Congrats on the 3 years…hope I make it that long!
Congratulations!!! I really enjoy reading your blog every few days. I don’t comment a lot, but I get a lot of reading ideas from you. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite book for this year, because I am reading a book that has me totally engrossed, The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Therefore, it is my favorite book of the moment. Does that work? Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the rest of us.
wow! happy 3 years, bookgirl, and here’s to more years with books overflowing on your nightstand!
Congrats! We are so thankful you are among us! You add style and sass to the blog world. 😀
I’m a bit late on this one, but congrats on your 3 year bloggiversary! My favourite recent read has been Alice Walker’s poems. May the blogging year ahead contain many more wonderful reads (I could write for a cheesy card company, right?)!
Congratulations on your 3 years of blogging. I really enjoy visiting your blog, so I’ll add “and many more” to my greetings!
I’m late, but congrats on your bloggiversary!! Wow, three years!
