Picture it – table after table stacked with books, books underneath the tables, books along the walls and I only had 30 minutes to check it out. The travesty.
There were lots of romance novels and mysteries, and I don’t think I’ve seen that many copies of The Bridges of Madison County ever. If you want one let me know. I can’t imagine that the stock will be depleted.
I had to glare at some people for being in the way. Don’t go to the sale, chat on your cell and stand in front of the stacks. No one stands between BookGirl and sale stacks. But even though I rushed through the sale I got some good finds.
The Last Known Residence of Mikey Acuña by Dagoberto Gilb
Trick of the Eye by Jane Stanton Hitchcock
How to Breathe Underwater by Julie Orringer
The Red Room by Nicci French
The Bone People by Keri Hulme
Talking to the Dead by Helen Dunmore
I hope everyone has a good weekend. I know I’ll be busy reading Birdsong (which I still haven’t started actually), doing another Artist Date as I work through The Artist’s Way book and Saturday night we have foreign film night with friends. Maybe I’ll even make it back to the book sale.
