Hello everyone. I am back from vacation and sitting here thinking that it went by too quickly but I had a very nice time so that’s what counts. It was so relaxing that I ended up not blogging and hardly spent any time at the computer. I read seven books. I guess all that computer time really does eat into my reading time. Ha.
The last couple of days we were in Germany we went to Hannover to visit with a friend and we also went to a monastery to see a calligraphy exhibit. Here are a few images:
I love being in Hannover on a Saturday. There are so many people in the city center going in and out of shops, chilling out at cafes and it’s just great for people watching.
I don’t like beer but I think this looks crazy-fun. If I had seen the wine bike then maybe I would have had to hop on. Hee,hee.
We had a lovely day for an outing in the Harz and to see Kloster DrΓΒΌbeck. The monastery is celebrating 1050 years. Can you believe that? It’s beautiful.
We also got to see some very nice calligraphy on display.
Of course after all the wandering around and going up and down stairs some time out in the cafe area is a must. I had some delicious cake (a bit like cheesecake) and the requisite cappuccino.
We had a lot of fun. As we walked out I saw a bunch of bright sunflowers and honestly how can you not burst into smiles when you see these.
So that’s a bit about our trip. I will try to get my act together and give you some quickie reviews on the books I read. In the meantime, what have you been up to? Read some good books? I can’t wait to catch up!
Welcome back, Iliana! We missed you! I’m glad you had a wonderful trip in Germany! The pics are lovely; and the pics of your snacks and the sunflower made me smile. The calligraphy exhibition sounds fun to me!
I can’t wait to read your reviews on those books you read! Hope you have a great weekend ahead! π
Melody – Aw, thank you! I’ve missed reading everyone’s blogs. I feel so out of the loop! haha… Hope you are doing great and getting ready for the weekend. I know I can’t wait π
I just want you to know, I am not jealous. Not one iota. π Okay, maybe a little! Welcome back!!
Sounds like a great trip and your pictures are wonderful! Relax, recover, and enjoy being back home. Eager to hear about your books!
Welcome back! Wow, lovely pictures! I wish I could have a bite of that cake and a capp too! 7 books, wow – u r right the computer time does take in some reading time – but then how else will we know about books, we would never read π
looking forward to all your lovely reviews, and more photos please!
Welcome back! Sounds like another wonderful trip to Germany. I’m officially jealous. π

Hiya! Glad to see you back, but wishing you many more happy holidays. You’ve got such lovely photos and the shot of the monastery is amazing. It’s so clean and new looking, love the colours. You should totally start that wine bike idea. It would be a great business.
Welcome back! Thanks for sharing the photos. I’m hope to travel there someday to see where my mother was born.
During the time you were away I found your blog through BBAW, hope you don’t mind π
It looks like you had a great vacation. It reminds me that I should visit Germany more often.
Beautiful! I’m glad you’re back, but I’m also glad you had such a good time.
Iliana, what’s your connection to Germany? I must have missed it. I lived in Bitburg when I was small. My sister was born there. My uncle’s ex-wife is also German, from Rodalben. I visited when I was 11 and had a great time.
Your pictures make it look as though you had a lot of fun! I would love to go travelling again, but it isn’t going to happen anytime soon!
Welcome back! Sounds and looks like you had a lovely time. We have one of those bier bikes in downtown Minneapolis that I see from time to time when I am walking to the train after work.
What a great getaway you’ve had: nice to see you back! Yes, lots of great books, for although summer reading was sparse, I’ve been reading voraciously since.
Welcome back Iliana, sounds like a great trip to Germany, as always!
Love all your photos!! Glad you had such a good time.
