We had a very good weekend as we got together with some friends for dinner and laughs. I needed that as my work has been crazy and this week will be more of the same. You see, I’m moving on to a new job but I want to make sure to wrap things up and leave everything in order. I’m very tired but excited about the upcoming change.
So this week postings may be very hit or miss and to top it off I have book group on Tuesday and I’m still very behind on my book. By the way, I’m really enjoying The Hangman’s Daughter.
I also made a stop at Barnes & Noble on Friday and enjoyed a quick visit to check out the shelves. I added a couple of books to my wishlist.
- Big Girl Small by Rachel DeWoskin. Saw a good review of this book in either Bust or Bitch magazine.
- The Paper Garden by Molly Peacock. How one woman became an artist at 72. I love that you can begin any dream at any time.
- The Dream of Perpetual Motion by Dexter Palmer. A new steampunk novel to add to the list. Nice cover on this one too.
- Eight White Nights by Andre Aciman. This sounds like it could be a wonderful love story.
Have you read any of these? Have a great week!

The Dream of Perpetual Motion has been on my to-read list for a while, too. I think I might try to read The Tempest again first.
I’ve heard of The Paper Garden, but I didn’t know what it was about. Now, I want to read it! I’ve just finished a book of poetry (thanks, in part, to your influence) and am just starting Radio Shangri-La. Hope you love the new job!
I hope your new job goes well. All sounds very exciting.
Of course I haven’t heard of any of them! I never do. But I love stories about people achieving their dreams late in life.
I have not been in a bookstore for months now! How bad is that! These are all new to me books–this makes me feel like it’s time to go and do a little browsing.
Good luck with the changeover!!! :)))
All the best on your new job, Iliana! 🙂
I haven’t heard of those titles and I can’t wait to hear what you’ll think of them!
I haven’t read any of these before but I have heard great things about Dream of Perpetual Motion. Good luck on your new job!
I haven’t been very good about blog-hopping. Good luck with your new job. Hope the wildfires aren’t causing you any trouble!
How exciting to be moving to a new job. Good luck getting everything in order.
Good luck with the job switch Iliana, I know it can be stressful!
The Paper Garden is going on my list. I tried The Dream of Perpetual Motion. but abandoned it. Eager to hear your opinion on that one.
Best of luck in the new job!
Congrats with the new job Iliana! I hope the transition is a smooth one–the current one was a fairly recent one?
Haven’t read any of the books but I hope you enjoy! Best wishes! 😉
Good luck Iliana 🙂 and Happy Easter 🙂
Hello Friends – I’m sorry I haven’t answered comments but I’ve been a bit drained from wrapping things up at my job. Will start my new job this coming week – yay! Look forward to catching up with you guys soon. Happy Easter everyone!
