Happiness in a Box

When I got home today an Amazon box was waiting for me at my door. This is just what I needed to help brighten up my day after a very long and stressful day at work. Don’t you just hate those days? Ah well, that’s over and I’ve spent a very nice evening reading.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you, I got Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky. I didn’t start it tonight but it is going to the top of my nightstand pile. Yes, I only got one book. Hard to believe right?

In the meantime I’m debating whether to continue with The Secret of Lost Things by Sheridan Hay. I’m only at page 30 or so and this book just isn’t grabbing me. It’s supposed to be a story that appeals to the book-obsessed but I almost feel like it’s trying too hard to be appealing. I think this book will go back to the library unread. I won’t completely mark it off my TBR list but for now I will go with something else.

And, that something else is The Anodyne Necklace by Martha Grimes. This is the third book in the Richard Jury series. Ah, it’s good to see that Aunt Agatha is still as maddening as ever.
