Fall Reading

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere we are at a new month and so much closer to year end. I don’t even want to think of how many books I want to read and probably won’t get to. Let’s look back for a bit to see how my September reading went.

I read four books: The Blissfully Dead by Mark Edwards & Louise Voss, It’s Not Me It’s You by Mhairi McFarlane, Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death by Edward Runcie and Dead Simple by Peter James. I enjoyed these books (some more than others of course) and I don’t even want to say this but I’m hoping to still do some quick write ups of all of these so stay tuned.

When it comes to challenges, I made no progress on my current challenges and I didn’t even read one book in the Estella Society Reading Project that ended in September.

This is not to say I feel bad about my reads. I don’t at all. I join challenges to get insight into new books, genres, and be part of the community. If I complete them great, but if not that’s ok too.

So having said that there are definitely some things I’m looking forward to in October. Here in Austin we host the Texas Book Festival in mid-October. I don’t go every year but I really want to this year because guess who is coming? Margaret Atwood! I’d love to see her and many other authors too of course.

October is also the R.I.P. challenge which I have joined and I’m already reading a book for. Dewey’s Read-A-Thon is coming up – who’s joining that? And, don’t even get me started on German Literature Month and Nonfiction November! So much bookish fun.

Now it’s time to plan my weekend. Hope you have a great one and tell me, what are you looking forward to this Fall?
