I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. We are having a gorgeous day here in Austin so I’ve been enjoying the blue skies, warmth and popsicles. ha.
Not only that but I went to the bookstore and also made a quick pit stop at the library to pick up some holds. Oh how good it is. Of course now I want to go back to the bookstore because seriously there are so many magazines calling my name. I did walk away with the latest copy of Cloth Paper Scissors because there is one bookbinding project that I must try as soon as I get back to my studio.
As far as my library holds go, I picked up Vertigo by W. G. Sebald for the next Slaves of Golconda discussion. I hope to start that one tomorrow. I also got two books by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö, the first two in the Martin Beck series.
In the meantime I’m reading Death Angel by Martha Powers. Not sure how I feel about this one yet but before it I finished a really good book, Thursday Night Widows by Claudia Piñeiro, so it could be that I’m still sort of thinking about that one.
Anyway, that’s what’s up in my little corner. What’s going on with you?
Hello, hello. Glad you had a good day. I’m in southeast Texas and it was a nice day, too. I slept in after going salsa dancing in Houston last night, woke up, cleaned a bit, finished The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, took a nap… you see how this is going. It was nice.
I’ll be posting a review of THIALH later. It was a really beautiful little book. Have a great Saturday evening. I hope to start a new book tonight.
Glad to hear you are out and about!
jrav – Oh salsa dancing! It’s been forever since I’ve done that. I miss it. And, naps are a good thing. I know I’ve been indulging in them a lot 🙂 I have read Heart is a Lonely Hunter – long time ago though. Looking forward to stopping by your blog to see what new book you start now.
Kathleen – I had so much fun getting out. Ah it’s great to get back to my usual stuff 🙂
Sounds like a great way to spend a spring weekend!
Sounds like you have kept busy. I have so many library books out at the moment, I dare not step back in there.
jenclair – It was! Now if only we could hang on to Spring for a while but usually here it’s like we immediately go into hot summer! haha…
vivienne – I shouldn’t be going to the library either as I have plenty of books to choose from but if I go to pick up one hold I inevitably come out with more books 🙂
While I’m not looking forward to the heat of summer (I know, after complaining all winter about the cold!!–I should be eagerly looking forward to it!)–I am looking forward to ice cream weather! 🙂 I really liked Thursday Night Widows, too and am glad you got a chance to read it.
