‘Tis the season for the endless lists of best books of the year. I’ve seen the ones in the NY Times, Salon, NPR, and on and on. I like reading them even if I haven’t read any of the books that made their list. Seriously, that always seems to happen to me. Anyway, I’ve been thinking of my favorite reads of the year and I promise I’ll share my list soon.
In the meantime, while I was at Barnes & Noble during lunch today I picked up venuszine and guess what? Another best list. Actually, I really liked their list because they have some books that I hadn’t seen on the other lists.
Here’s their Hottt List:
This Book Will Save Your Life by A.M. Homes
St. Lucy’s School for Girls Raised by Wolves by Karen Russell
But Enough About Me by Jancee Dunn
Chicken With Plums by Marjane Satrapi
The Thin Place by Kathryn Davis
Anyone read any of those books? I do have Chicken With Plums on hold at the library and am looking forward to it.
Actually I’m much more curious to hear what you guys consider your favorite reads of the year. Hope to see lots of blog posts about that as I’ll be taking notes of books not to be missed.
