Sunny Days

The weekend was a lot of fun, didn’t quite do all the stuff I had planned but that’s okay. I took my bookbinding class, went to the movies and spent time at the library.

My bookbinding class was at the Stamp Asylum, a paradise for rubber stampers and other crafters. We learned to make a library pocket book. Basically an accordion book made using library pocket cards.

I used some distressed inks, learned how to use a crafters iron and decorated my book with stamps, bits of ribbon and bottle caps. I liked it so much that I’ve started thinking of some themed books I could make. Wouldn’t they be great as gifts.

We also went to see Ladies in Lavendar starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and the hottie from Goodbye, Lenin, Daniel Brühl. What a sweet film. If the story doesn’t move you surely the violin music will, but I’m sure it will be both so go see it if you can.

Finally the weekend was made complete by finishing up The Bitch Posse by Martha O’Connor. As the book states in it’s opening page, you have entered a chick-lit free zone. I couldn’t put this book down.

So which book next? I’ll let you know tomorrow.
