Sunday Salon

Hello Friends and happy weekend. There’s nothing like jumping back into a blogging routine by joining in on Sunday Salon. Thank you to Deb at Readerbuzz for hosting the chat.

What I’m watching: This summer I’ve binged on Better Call Saul. I’ve not watch Breaking Bad but my husband kept telling me that I should and so I thought I’d start with BCS and I love it! I can’t believe the last episode is this Monday. I don’t want it to end but at least I do have Breaking Bad to look forward to after we finish it.

What I’m reading: I’m throughly enjoying Elena Knows by Claudia Pineiro; translated by Frances Riddle. I’ve read several other books by Claudia Pineiro but this one is certainly different. Yes, there’s a mystery but it’s so much more. I can see why it was shortlisted for this years International Booker Prize list.

What I’m sipping: It’s been so hot here in Austin this summer. I say this every year but since May 21 we’ve had 63 days of 100+ temps. Needless to say, I’ve needed some cold drinks and I’ve hooked on Waterloo Sparkling Water, I particularly love the watermelon flavor.

What made me smile: The Texas Book Festival is back in person this year. This wonderful literary event takes place every November but due to the pandemic the last couple of years it’s been virtual and hybrid. I’m hoping, crossing fingers, etc. that I’ll be able to attend at least a couple of the reading events.

What is my quote for the week: “Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light.” ~ Frida Kahlo.

It’s always a good reminder that laughing is good for the soul.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend, enjoy some good reads and look forward to the week ahead!
