Only a couple of more weeks until the end of the Summer Reading Challenge and I just couldn’t hold out any longer. I got an email notice from the library that my request for Murder in Little Italy had come in. I thought about cancelling it but I love the Gaslight mystery series and I couldn’t resist the pull of the book on hold.
I read the book in two sittings. The eighth book in the series continues with the story of midwife Sarah Brandt in turn of the century New York. When she goes to check on a newly delivered babe she doesn’t expect to find herself in the middle of a murder investigation. It was a great read and now I just want to know when will the next book be published?
Anyway other than that slip, my SRC has been a success – 20 books read so far! I owe that large number mainly to my three week vacation. Oh, the number of books you can get through when you don’t have to work. Ha,ha…
