My foreign authors book group was not very well attended tonight. Bummer. It was my book we were discussing but that’s okay. Sometimes we get a good turnout and sometimes we don’t.

I’m not losing hope on this book group. We’ve been going strong for more than 10 years now. I got a sneak peek at our list for next year and there are so many good titles on it. Books by Ishiguro, Rushdie, and McEwan. I’ll share the list as soon as I get it.

What did we discuss this time around? Affinity by Sarah Waters. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have a penchant for books set in the Victorian Era.

While I was waiting for book group to start I roamed around and several titles caught my attention: Minaret by Leila Aboulela, How the Hula Girl Sings by Joe Meno and Four and Twenty Blackbirds by Cherie Priest. Anyone heard of these and can make a recommendation? For now they go on my list of books I want to read.

Off to do some reading now but don’t forget to BAFAB.
