No Hope

You know how I said I wouldn’t be checking out books from the library for a while? I still haven’t checked out any but what I didn’t mention was that part of my plan to whittle down my stacks also involved not buying any books…. for a while. I never said how long but let’s just say this new pronouncement of mine was made over the weekend.

So today before going home I stop off at Target to get some essentials and as I’m leaving the shopping center I notice that the Old Navy store is no more. I drive up because they have a banner and I want to see what’s coming in its place.

Gently Used Book Sale

I am not kidding.

The local school district is having their annual book sale starting this Thursday and it goes through Sunday. We are talking hardbacks for $2 and paperbacks for $1. Come Sunday I think everything is 50 cents.

I won’t even pretend that I’m going to be strong. I’m going to a book sale on Thursday people.

In case you were wondering, I did finish The Mistressclass. Excellent book even if one of the main characters got on my nerves. I loved the writing style and the story. Tonight I’m starting Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks. I have deep misgivings as it’s a war novel and I don’t do those but it’s my March book group reading material.
