Musings

I had to take my car in for an oil change on Saturday and what should have been a 30 minute appointment turned into a two hour waiting game. Like anyone else, I don’t want to wait around, but I had a book with me and it really wasn’t all that bad.

I saw several people, who were also waiting for a long time, pacing and getting upset. None of them had a book or magazine with them. No wonder they were upset. My advice, always be prepared to read people. You just never know when you’ll have extra time to get in a few more chapters.

Today we went to a party hosted by the Dallas calligraphy society. My husband is a member and I tag along because there are also several book artists who belong to the group and I enjoy sharing ideas with them. We had a nice time chatting and after the party we stopped off at Half Price book for a bit of browsing. Yes, browsing, I didn’t buy anything. Shocker isn’t it?

Anyway now I’m off to read. I started a new book while waiting for my oil change, I’m reading Solomon vs. Lord by Paul Levine. That is one very funny book.
