Library Books

I’ve read quite a few really good library books recently so today I thought why not go back and get some more. I really should be spending more time with my own books but it’s always so fun to come home with a stack of new books from the library isn’t it?

I didn’t check out too many but I think I found some good ones. Let me know what you think:

  • Big Girl Small by Rachel DeWoskin. I think I read about this one in either Bust or Bitch magazine and I thought it sound like a good quirky book. The story is about a sixteen year old who is vulnerable, sarcastic and well, a teenager but she’s got plans for a big, bright future. What makes her just a bit more unique is that she’s only three feet nine inches tall.
  • The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French. Another quirky book I heard about via one of the magazines I mentioned above. This story is about a woman who is intent on killing Dr. Spriggs who once gave her a radioactive cocktail without her consent as part of a secret government study. This so does not sound like my usual read but there’s something about this which kind of amuses me.
  • Twice Born by Margaret Mazzantini. Filled with memories of the four-year siege of Sarajevo, Gemma reluctantly boards a flight from her native Rome to that war-scarred city with her sixteen-year-old son, Pietro. She hopes to teach her son about the city of his birth and about Diego, the father he never knew.

A shortish post because I’ve got a very good book I’m reading currently and I can’t wait to get back to it right now. More on that one tomorrow.
