Just Looking

I got the November issue of BookPage tonight. How I love to look through it and check off books I want to buy.

This month they have a review on Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s latest novel, Memories of My Melancholy Whores (which will be released tomorrow!). I must read this one soon. There is also an article on Anne Rice who’s now left the world of vampires and witches aside for a novel on Christ. Okay.

I also like to read the mysteries recommendations. This time they review Jar City by Arnaldur Indridason. I bought this when I was in Germany during the summer and I really liked it. You can read more about it here. And, yes, why is it that when they are published in the States the novels get a new title? So annoying. Especially when it comes to series books because you don’t know if you are buying a new one or what.

For now I’m only marking the books, adding them to my list but I’m not buying anything yet. Yes, there have been times when I saw something I really wanted and immediately went online to buy it. But you see, I’m going to a book festival this weekend so all spending will be held off until then.
