It’s almost time for the annual Texas Book Festival. I am planning to go again this year and look forward to the readings by Kate Atkinson, Janet Fitch and Jacqueline Winspear among many others. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get to meet them.
Last year I met Sandra Cisneros and my only regret was that all I said to her was “I love your books,” as if she hasn’t heard that before. I really enjoy listening to authors read from their novels, and going to a book signing is a special treat as I have a small collection of signed books but obviously I need to work on my meeting skills.
In the meantime if you don’t have a book fair in your home town, check out the Love Of Reading on-line book fair going on this week. There are prizes to be won, author interviews and book bloggers even get a bit of the spotlight.
